What Number Will You Bat?

Everyone seems to pick an allrounder or expects to bat and bowl; which seems a little samey and dull - I'd imagine that its going to be very hard to be a number three batsman and develop good enough bowling to bowl regularly - all-rounders are more likely to be further down the order...

I'm going for a left-arm chinaman spin bowler - I'm going to focus my attention on bowling, so my guy will probably end up batting at number 11 and looking like Monty Panesar while doing so... Assuming that the development system lets me do something like that!

@ice

spot on. most people overlook how rare a top quality all rounder, defined as worth his place in the side for either discipline, actually is. and as DBC are offering the choice of batting or bowling all rounder it suggests it would be very difficult to achieve this in the game.

should be great fun trying though!

Good points. Mind you, noone of us have gotten our mits on the game yet - I'm sure we'll figure that out quickly and resort to being either a specialist batsman or bowler.

Opening Batsman and a part time off spinner for Australia :cheers Time to bring back the glory days :thumbs

Left arm over the wicket bowler, a wicket taker who leaks runs - Will the captain want me :p

Young 25 years old Right handed batsman having great talent in cricket who is also Indian vice captain and was captain in Zimabawe 2013 tour :p Virat Kohli. His name will V. Kali or something like it :p

My player will be retired by the time the game comes out!!!

Sachin Tendulkar in reality, S.Tendeher in Cricket 07 and now waiting for a new name for legend.

Some one like how Shoaib Malik should have been batting at 2 or 3 and bowling some handy off-spin here and there and my second attempt will be to do something I never was able to do buy my Idol did left-handed aggressive and classical opening batsman like Saeed Anwar.

I would like 3rd attempt to by Afridi but i dont think any game in the world will simulate his carrier logically so no chance :D

A big hitting #6 with medium fast bowling.

Razzaq is your man.

As is so in real life I'll be a right handed nudger and nurdler batting 3 or 4 who denigrates the name of off-spin as a side line (Imagine a 31-yr-old Joe Root without the talent).

At some point though I'd like to try bowling LAF and giving it a smack at 7 or 8 ala Wasim. Very much a hero after his exploits for Lancs in my youth.

Start out as a bowling all rounder, eventually would like to try and work my way into the top 6 and develop into a complete all rounder
