Which Country Plays Better Cricket?

Instead of :facepalming, we should guide him. :) I have reported the post, so that one moderator/staffie/admin will move this to it's proper place. :)

Exactly, I too reported it a couple of minutes before you. It should be moved soon.

By the way, my reply to the question will be Srilanka! They have been in two world cup finals on the trot. They need a quality pacer who can spearhead the attack. If they get one, they will become much more formidable especially in the shorter formats where they also have the services of Malinga. Of the given teams, I think Pakistan is doing well. India is doing good too but in patches.

Ugghh, good thread starter :p

Forget who's best, but I'm really proud of the style of cricket Australia play. I am a little biased, but they seem to be the most watchable team. They always pick the fastest bowlers they can find, majority of their batsmen are aggressive shot makers, and they always have lots of energy in the field. The old traditional attitude of grinding out runs with the bat, and steady line and length with the ball doesn't apply to Australian cricket.

Allan Border.

Steve Waugh.

Glenn McGrath.

:p

From the 4 in the OP, I'd say Australia do play the better cricket. But for most watchable, I'd say Pakistan.

Which Country Plays Better Cricket? India Or Pakistan New Zealand or Australia

Not that you can reply, you need to define "better cricket". Most attractive? Most effective? Best combination of the former two elements? And which format? Or all?

I'm not sure I really care, sides have good series and bad and with too many meaningless series (mismatches) thrown in the mix it is hard to tell which side is the best in terms of wins/record let alone who plays "better" or the best cricket.

Haha - indeed. Aussie selectors don't completely ignore those players, but you have to be damn good to last if you're a grinder. Fortunately those guys were excellent. Although now we've got Ed Cowan, basically because there's no one else :(

What kind of a question is that? No one even comes close to Bangladesh when it comes to being the best team. :p

probably the reason I sort of prefer sri lanka is because of the brand of cricket they play. I like that they have very unorthodox players and are more willing than any other to throw the rule book out the window, but they apply a more selfless team spirit and professional approach so you're never really left exasperated by poor fielding or stupidity.

not the only reason though, they're also usually underdogs and I kinda like that quality.

have to admire australia's ruthless dedication to pummelling players though. after stephen hendry retired recently (a snooker player at his peak in the 90s who is probably the best ever player) he was talking about his attitude to playing and he said something along the lines of "it's nice standing on someones neck when they're already down." it's so australian, and for all the nastiness of that, I do actually admire that attitude in a sportsman.

As I do think being a Pakistani it would be Pakistan but to be really fair enough Australia and England are the two main cricketing nations.

Pakistan have some of the most unpredictable, swash buckling cricketers of all time. They are extremely skilled too and when ever they win, they win with passion, guts and charisma.

I'd put Australia as a very close second. Their never say die attitude i to be admired and they have always had a range of players, some aggressive, others reserved, some explosive, others measured, some classy, others gutsy.
