It doesn't matter if anyone mentioned is now retired or even deceased,
but who do you currently regard as the 3 best (or greatest) Australian
cricket players ever and please say why, for each player named (for the
player's playing style, overall career track record, or anything else).

Sir Don Bradman-sould i give suggestion why he is best australian batsmen you should no it:p.
Steve Waugh-in the matches which been going one sided he has just pulled it to australia perhaps one of australia pressureless cricket playing batsmen.
Allan Border-attacking batting and perhaps always irritating bowler and dont giving him to have advantage in him.
off-topic-thread has nothing to post but i am posting really poor thread

Sir Don Bradman

Universe

Shane Warne

DayLight

Ricky Ponting

Many will disagree with Ponting but he was the best batsman in World for most part of this decade and is also best Aussie batsman after Sir Don. Other names that can be discussed include Lille, Steve Waugh, McGrath and Border.

1) Bradman - numbers speak for themselves

2) Shane Warne - great numbers but he was more than that. A clever thinker, a handy batsman, good slipper and a real character. Watching him bowl was pure theater and I wish he was still around.

3) Keith Miller - opened the bowling and batted at #5. Pure all-rounder.

Close:
Dennis Lillee
Glenn McGrath
Ricky Ponting
Richie Benaud

1) Don Bradman- Quite Obvious really.

2) Shane Warne- Best Leg-Spinner in the world.

3) Glenn McGrath- One of Australia`s greatest all-time pace bowlers.

Close:
Dennis Lilee
Steve Waugh
Ricky Ponting
Allan Border

1. Sir Donald Bradman- I need not explain.
2. Shane Warne- A true legend. Arguably, the best spinner to have ever graced cricket. Was a real treat to watch when he played.
3. Dennis Lilie, Glenn McGrath (tie)- Both are legends. Both were equally dangerous when they played. Both were like a nightmare to the batsmen and both deserve the no 3 spot. McGrath is actually the best pacer I've ever watched bowling. And recently, I've watched some old videos of Lilie. Honestly speaking, both were equally brilliant! I can't say whose the better!!
