2007 world cup. It would be better to ask me after one year because then I will have much better idea :D .

Right now, one team is trying hard to sort out issues that might hamper its quest to win the trophy after 24 years! Chappell is trying hard to remove Ganguly from the picture. If he succeeds, India would become a better contender than what they are right now

india never been a good team. They have win %age 68% when tendulkar is playing.Without tendulkar there win %age is rusty36%.whenever india wins its b.c of tendulkar.so i dont think india will play w.c2007 final as tendulkar is in trouble.

How can you say that?, do you remember world cup 03 when India was almost squasged by minnows hollend and the aussies trashed them evreybody and even I though that India would be dumped in the first round and another disspaointed world cup like in 99, but like I siad the world cup brings the best out of players and India slowly by slowly got confident and started winning evreygame single handedly, and they got to the world cup final with good performances from dravid, y singh, Ganguly, Tendulkar, Srintath, Z khan and Nhera. But thats all in the past.

Its a long time since Tendulkars been In the Indian squad, and actually even without Tendulkar right now India are improving and playing good cricket.

All India needs is sehwag in prime form, who can sluaghter any attack on his day and get India off to a flyer. Tendulkar will be soon at his best and will soon play his fast and fiery game agian ( you'll see), Kaif is batting good at number 3 who is match-winner, and can bulid India foundations, and a very good fielder. Dravid arguberley one of the world best batsmen right now, who holds the rock solid middle-order together and paces his innings perfectly, who is another vital member of the Indian team. Y singh another good finesher with Kaif who on his day can be brutal and he a bevon kind of player and another outstanding fielder. Dhoni the smashbucket wicketkeeper/ batsmen, who can sluaghter any attack on any day he he wants to and can get India to a big score and can chase down big totels if he stays at the crease for a while. Pathan is turning to be a good allrounder for India, he is a talented bowler who can swing the ball both ways and can grab wickets when most needed, he was the icc youngest player of the year in 2004, and started he cricket career with a bang, a wasim akram kind of bowlers. The rest Nhera, Zaheer and Harbajan are good bowlers who are ideal match-winners for India, who have had many wickets at a good eco rate and has won matches for India before. Indias got a lot of depth in batting as well and has improved very much on thier fielding, India has got what it takes to bounce back after a crappy start, and India rebounds strongly.

I think India will get far in World cup 07, all they need is sehwag, Tendulkar, dravid and 3 bowlers to be in prime form.

Leave it. That person doesnt seem to know a lot about Indian cricket!

I am sure all the current controversies would be sorted out soon and Indian cricket would regain its glory next year and that would culminate into its peak in the WC2007

Rightly said.

don't compare pathan with wasim.NO way near.Wasim was a world class bowler.Pathan performs only against weaker teams and has only one delivery 2 make the batsman surprise, while wasim was able 2 bowl 6 different surprising deliveries in an over.

Do you understand English? Indiangod said that Pathan is a "Wasim kind of bowler" not a bowler who is like Wasim Akram in every aspect!

And who said Pathan performs against weaker teams? His performance against stronger teams hasnt been poor at all. He was asked to play against the minnows Bangladesh and Zimbabwe who had no clue to his bowling! Is it his fault? He has delivered against Pakistan, Australia, etc. He is a promising young bowler who will definitely deliver if given more chances against stronger teams!

Pathan will be a world-class bowler one day, Pathan came into international cricket with a bang, that vb series in 2004, was just amazing for him, he troubled the Australians all the way through.

India could have won the World Cup 2003 if it hadn't rained and/or if Ganguly picked to bat first, instead of bowling. Alots of fours were slowed down by the wet ground caused by the rain. If Sehwag didn't get run-out, we would have won. :(

It hurts mate, and I dont want to remember that painful defeat. and whats done is done, forget about the past lets look forward to the future. 360 was just way way beyond Indias reach, India had no chance with consistant class bowlers like Mcgrath, B lee and Bichal, Tendulkar was the key if India had any hopes of winning it, when he got out it set up the game for the aussies. even if Sehwag did'nt get run out and stayed near the end, India would have lost in vain. With the expierence of the world cup 03, I am sure that India will get far in world cup 07, India is improving and as the bounceback ability. Indias got world class players and performers and all India needs is Tendulkar to play like before, Sehwag to be in form, Dravid to play how he usally does, kaif and Y singh to stay till the end and finesh off the innnings and the bowlers to bowl line and lentgh and to be in form, and India will get far.

I think its important to have bowler in the team who can finish off these minnow teams' batters quickly otherwise u get one of those upset matches where India is loosing against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe.
