Powell?? Taylor has been much better than him in the last year or so. I like your team all around but no Murli or Lee leaves a big hole in the 11.

Powell and Rafique ruin the team. It was looking promising up until that point. I'd also have Murali over Vettori. Steyn, Lee, Sidebottom and Murali would be a much better bowling attack. You only have 2 frontline seamers, so unless you're playing in India that's a very risky strategy. Jacques Kallis can bowl, but he's not going to terrorise a quality batting line-up. Good batting line-up though, the lack of Pietersen is the only poor point :p

rafique and powell wont ruin the team... rafique is actually very experienced ... he took 100 wickets in 32 matches...powell is also very good... i believe steyn and vettori are much better than lee and murali... they are already too common in all teams and i dont like to watch them play anymore... lol

the batting line up i would say is really strong... i was thinking of getting pietersen and amla but then i came up with yousuf... and also kallis who can bowl also...

Ok, I want comments on my XI

1) Hayden
2) Shivarine Chanderpaul
3) Rahul Dravid (captain)
4) Sachin Tendulkar
5) Mike Hussey (current best test batsmen formwise)
6) Kevin Pieterson/Flintoff at his best
7) Sangakarra (wk)
8) Brett Lee
9) Dale Steyn
10) Ishant Sharma
11) Muralitharan

12th man) Daniel Vettori

If Flintoff plays, he should certainly go number 7 and Chanderpaul has only ever opened twice in Tests. Ishant Sharma bowled well but did not take the wickets against Australia; as well as being an unproven talent at Test level, Sidebottom is a far better, more proven pace bowler who brings variety to the attack. Rahul Dravid is in poor form and so it'd be best to play VVS Laxman, in his place, who has a good record at three as well as being in good form.

Okay I've considered what you said and made the changes.

1) Hayden
2) Tendulkar
3) Kumar Sangakarra
4) Mike Hussey
5) Kevin Pieterson
6) VVS Laxman
7) Jacques Kallis/Andrew Flintoff
8) Brett Lee
9) Zaheer Khan
10) Muralitharan
11) Dale Steyn

Matthew Hayden should be your opener. Any arguement against it and you're fighting a losing battle. ;)

lol... man i wont argue against it but i would say i want to give few young talented players chances to prove themselves...:cheers.. hayden is a great player no doubt but i think cook is a rising star in test cricket...:D

Yeah, but Cook could probably take Hayden's palce in a few years, though not as dominating. At present,Haydos ought to be there.

Ali Cook.
Matty Hayden.
Ricky Ponting. (c).
Sachin Tendulkar.
Jacques Kallis.
Mohammed Yousuf.
Kumar Sangakarra (wk) - Could be easily replaced by Brad Haddin should he take to Test match cricket like a duck to water.
Daniel Vettori.
Brett Lee.
Dale Steyn
Muttiah Muralitharan.

12th Man = Stuart Clark.

Hayden
Sehwag
Ponting
Tendulkar
Dravid
Sangakarra
Boucher (WK)
Lee
Clark
Mulari
Steyn

I think that's a fantastic line up. Don't see that losing many at all.

Hayden
Chanderpaul
Ponting
Yousuf
Sangakarra
Kallis
McCullum (WK)
Lee
Sidebottom
Muralitheran
Steyn

I know Chanderpaul's not an opener by trade (although he averages 74 in 2 games as opener!) but I was concerned about having Sehwag and Hayden, 2 really aggressive players, at the top of the order. The rest of my batsmen speak for themselves, and McCullum is easily the best batting keeper in the world with the form he's currently in. Bowling wise, Lee and Steyn are the two best fast bowlers in the world currently, Sidebottom adds variation and control, and Murali as the spinner. That side would take some beating.

Hayden
Sehwag
Ponting
Tendulkar
Dravid
Sangakarra
Boucher (WK)
Lee
Clark
Mulari
Steyn

I think that's a fantastic line up. Don't see that losing many at all.

good squad but there have been far better players than Dravid over the last year or so. Chanderpual, Yousuf and Jayawardene have been far better than him.

lol

Hayden's a better batsman then everyone in your lineup bar Tendulkar & Ponting.
