There is a spot left cuz kookabura hasn't seemed to realise that he is a selector
and i have sent him a PM but he hasn't answered :l

Yep, thats what I'm thinkling. Plus the selection process is going to be more fluid that say, one guy does this ODI, and another guy does the ODI in 3 games time.
I am going to put out the question- can you do the team before this game?- before one dayers to a certain selector, and if he doesn't reply in a certain amount of time, say a day or two, then I will move on to the next selector and ask them to select the team.

There are a lot of games though, so if 1 or 2 games are missed, then its not a big deal really.

Shaun Pollock

South African bowling attack too good for Windies
The West Indies preperation for the ODIs against the World XI took a setback when the World XI reserves bowling attack made light work of getting rid of the West Indies top order. Steve Harmison opened the bowling with Shaun Pollock, who ignored orders for Ntini to open the bowling with Harmison! However, Pollock showed why he had so much faith in himself by removing Chanderpaul in his first over, clean bowled by beauty that tempted Chanderpaul into playing, but swung in and removed the batsmans off stump. Sarwan came in and looked good, making 21, before he too was out to Pollock, caught plum lbw. Next over, and Harmison's pace made Gayle mis-time and offside shot, edging the ball to Trescothick at slip. Lara showed some resistance at one end, but Sylvester Joseph failed to take advatadge of his opportunity to impress, and played a rash shot to Pollocks impressive line and length bowling, which was edged behind to Flower.

Dwayne Smith

4 wickets down, and the Windies were looking to Lara to rescue the innings. He immediately went on the attack, with all-rounder Dwayne Smith was holding his own at the other end. Lara scored 34 off only 20 odd balls, before Pollock struck again- Lara's aggressive style saw him mis-time a straight drive, and the ball was caught by Pollock for his fourth, and most crucial wicket. Pollock (10-2-93-4) and Harmison (10-2-78-1) finished their spells, and Dwayne Smith and Ridley Jacobs did their best to salvage some pride. Dwayne Smith hit a good half century before Lance Klusener got him lbw, and Jacobs fighting 45 was ended by Ntini. Hinds (17), Collymore (26) and Dillon (24) offered good resistance in the tail, but two more Klusener wickets, and a Vettori wicket with only his second ball, finished the innings for 276.

Matthew Hayden

World XI reserves cruise to victory
The World XI reserves showed their quality as they defeated the West Indies team with over 15 overs left and 5 wickets in hand. Openers Marcus Trescothick (43) and Matthew Hayden (91) did most of the damage, attacking the Windies bowlers from the very first over. Corey Collymores place in the team looks in doubt for the series after he was smashed around for 3 overs, then taken out of the bowling attack by Lara. Spinner Chris Gayle came in, and while Gayle did take 2 wickets and slowed it down a little, the tourists never looked like losing. Trescothick will have been very disapointed not to capitalise on his good start, as he edged a quicker Gayle delievery to Joseph at slip. Sehwag scored 30 before becoming another victim to Gayle.

Dwayne Smith

Smith (7-0-78-3) looked good with the ball. He claimed the prized wicket of Hayden, forcing the hard hitting Aussie to edge one to Gayle at first slip. He also took the wicket of Herschelle Gibbs, and he took the wicket of Symonds with his very next ball. Lance Klusener came in, and unfortunately smashed the hattrick ball for four runs. Zimbabwe keeper Andy Flower (31*) and Klusener (20*) saw the World XI home to a solid victory.

Feelin Blue?, I know that you will be picking the team for the next game. There's no rush!

Surendar, after the 20/20 game, will you pick the team for the game for the 1st ODI? Again, there is no rush at all!

If the other selectors could get in touch and confirm if they will do the next games after that (2nd ODI and 3rd ODI), that would be great! If not, one of the other selectors will step in to pick the team!!

Yep, they outplayed me, my batting was the biggest disapointment. 277 in this isn't a good score. I think that anything short of 350 will be punished in this series!
