World's most Over-rated and Under-rated player!

Under-rated: rafique of bangladesh in tests he averages 29 with the ball and has taken fivers 4 times with a best of 6-77 vs south africa. (i think whole bangladesh is under-rated!)

Over-rated: warne of australia, lol he can only bowl well at the end of the day!

yes i totally agree with your views on warne .he is a complete disgrace to the game that he is the leading wicket taker and i hope mutthai muritharan dislodges him from that slot quickly.he is adrug addict during the world cup he was suspended he has been involved in sexual abuses and bowls well against players who can,t play spin well like english ,south africa against india he is a failure .

In my opinion S. Fleming is the most underrated player in the world. New Zealand team is by far average but the kind of detemination and effort they put in each game is phenomenal. S. Fleming is the best captain in the world and the subtleties he brings in his captaincy shows how he can make most of limited resources he has. I bet if he had been captaining a side like Pakistan or India then Pakistan or India would have been up there with the Aussies.

His batting is a excellent. His innings against SA in WC2003 was a treat to watch.

I have to agree that Laxman has been the most overrated player. He has done well against the Aussies but his record against other teams is not that good. He might have played big innings against Australia but people tend to forget that there was R. Dravid all the time to keep him company and also scoring 100's in thier partnerships.

In terms of bowling, C. Vaas is the most underrated bowler. He has been serving SL for long time and is the best fast bowler SL has ever produced. BUt somehow he got/gets overshadowed by Jayasurya, A. Desilva, Kaluwitharana and Murali.

what the hell india is right up there with the ausies india have won their last 3 series against aus drawn 1 with aus in aus and only lost 1 test series .i agree he is the best captain according to tactics but man management skills sourav is much better than him .i can,t understand why are you all telling laxaman is over rated just because he has failed in the last 2 test matches .
yes laxman was patnered by dravid which was good for dravid as he could play himself in as laxman scored runs at will .geoffry boycott tells when he bats well he is like god to watch.so shut your mouth

I agree with Fleming being very underated. Not only a brilliant captain but a class act with the bat aswell.

Another player I think is underated is Jason Gillespie. Rarely grabs all the headlines in the Australian team but always takes wickets, and big wickets at that, game after game.

Overrated...well the one that springs to mind is my old favourite, Graeme Smith. Very good on the leg side but not got a clue about the other half of the field. His foot movement comes close to being in the Trescothick class. Having mentioned that, Trescothick can go down as my second overrated player. He is good, but way too inconsistent. And finally, how could I forget? 'Wheely Bin' bloody Gilo. I pray to god that the Aussies smack him to all parts next summer.

yes i completely agree with your views on smith .

Who said he has bid hundreads against india he is a failure agiast india he averages aound 30 and on last tour barely made a run .yes he decimated the pakistan attack.oh yes i rememberfardin.fleming better than vvs laxman are you mad laxman averages around 47 in tests and fleminf around 39 most of his centuries have come agianst poor sides like currently bangaldesh and one
good double 100 in srilanka and laxman has scored double hundreds against aus and hundreads against pakistan.and name a few players top order players who average around 20 and are in the team .i suggest you what you suggested to rahulk please post a topis thats makes sense

you feel sourav is the most over rated player i feel he is the most under rated player he is by far the best odi opener even better than tendulkar i think he alaways took on new ball and he step down for making a place for virender shewag .he is a real team man you dont find that character in cricketer too often.don,t forget in brisbane on hard wicket where most of our batsman failed he scored 144 this shows he is not afraid of short pitch deleveries .and every batsman has a weakness like steve also was also vulnerable against short pitch deliveries and ponting against spin so you don,t that they are over rated .and vvs laxman he kust recently won the odi series against pak and test series he also contributed yes he is great against the aussies because you got to test a batsman against the best team in the worls currently aus are no 1 so what other things he has to do to prove he is agreat player.so shut your mouth

Completly agree with you theman I would say that gangually is indeed one of the most underrated player

other underrated player according to me would be: N.Astle, Vaas, etc...
over rated player according to me would be: bret lee, Yuvraj, Parthiv Patel :D M.Vaughan, G.Smith, etc....

yes,i think breet lee is one of the most overated player and yuvraj i don,t agree with you as he has tremendous talent and has performed in crunch situations for india although he is through a lean patch at the moment .if you remember he destroyed the australian attack in a odi match in australia scoring 145 something.he has the potential to be a great player as wall as fielder

The most overrated player in my opinion is Saurav Ganguly...being exposed agin and again against short pitch I dont know how we could claim is as amogst our finest players and another is VVS Laxman he is only good against Aussies but the way Warne is getting him in this series I doubt he would hold a good record for long.

I totally agree with you mate :D

Over-Rated=Yuvraj Singh(IMO)

Under-Rated=J.Rudolph

I definetly don't agree that Vaughan is overrated. I don't know why he has been sucking recently and I'm not going to be so impetuous as to say it's his captaincy but I remember his batting against Australia and he definitely seemed like he was batting as if he was England's last hope.

Patel is not overrated. He sucks. He has been dropped. Maybe he will return a much better player, he is still very young and does hold plenty of talent.

Brett Lee... well, heh, you probably have no idea as to how much bagging he gets, his poor lines do not really make him popular as an international cricketer in Australia.

Lee's not really over-rated, no-one really thinks he's that good, well in Australia anyway. He's better off carrying the drinks for Australia than the ball I say. But on bouncy wickets, he would be one of my first picks to have a bowl. If you can remember back to the WACA ODI against India last VB Series, he cleaned up.

what are you lot talking about that yuraj is overrated. he has always helped india in bad situations. he was only originally a one day player for india and because akash chopra cant bat he got called up to test. he only made his test debut this year against pakistan and he made a century.

he has helped india alot in one day cricket with both ball and bat
remeber his in 139 against australia in vb series a match which india should have one
and his crucial innings against pakistan in the world cup the 50 he made batting with dravid after tendulkar got out

you lot should check out players more in depth before calling them "underrated"

Under Rated = Kumara Sangakarra ( This guy is awesome! )
Over rated = VVS Laxman (just because he got 2 hundreds againest Australia)

i agree kumar sangrakara is under rated and what the hell are you mean by saying he has got 2 hundreads against aus he has half a dozen against them and agaiunst the best team.and pakistan also he scored a crucial hundread .so beware of making such comments.

Very Very True, he is by far the second best wicket keeper batsman after Gilly of course. When Gilly's gone, he will be the wicket-keepeing powerhouse of the game. Basically the whole Sri Lankan team is under-rated.

Hmmmm.......Seems like no one thinks J.Rudolph is under-rated :( .IMO he is a class batsman and is one for the future. And some people here said G.Smith is over-rated  .That is shocking. He is one of the best batsman in the world.
