Would Shakib Al Hasan make a team other than Bangladesh?

your obsessed with 4 quicks war. I honestly don't see the point when you have watson, who often has proven far from the worst of the 5 seamers. 4 quicks for warm ups, but they should be looking to establish a top 3.

No.

I honestly don't see the point when you have watson, who often has proven far from the worst of the 5 seamers. 4 quicks for warm ups, but they should be looking to establish a top 3.

Ye the same Watson who took 3 wickets @ 74 in the 5 Ashes test recently. Plus who throughout 2010 broke down in a fair few test matches & couldn't deliver his workload with the ball in tests & thus crippled the attack. That is not the type of all-rounder bowling workload that is acceptable, in weak attack which is currently is struggling to find the right combination to take 20 test wickets.

Plus no - AUS dont have 3 established quicks right to in the test attack. So in a hypothetical scenario where Shakib where Australian, 4 quicks + Watson + Shakib gives them more options to find 20 test wickets - UNTIL they establish who would be their best 3 quicks. Only then in such a hypothetical scenario, could they drop a fast-bowler & have a simple 5-man attack (3 quicks + Shakib + Watson).

Overall basically all without a doubt except South Africa.

Shakib would make South Africa (over Peterson/Botha), Australia (Smith/Krejza/Doherty/White), England (Yardy/Wright/Tredwell), West Indies (Miller/Benn and a few of their middle order bats), and New Zealand (McCullum/Woodcock). BD and Zim go without saying, as does any other associate nation.

Sri Lanka would be hard, competing with Randiv/Mendis/Herath for the spinners slot and Matthews for the allrounders one. Could replace Kapugedra/Silva tho tbh.

India and Pak probably wouldn't take him, they're quite settled at the moment and don't need anymore spin. Shakib could feasibly replace Hafeez, but I don't think Pak have another opener in the starting XI to replace Hafeez?

I think you are being a bit over the top lassana? are you saying england, south africa, the west indies and australia would not have welcomed a spinner who has a bowling average under 30 and a batting one of 35?

Randiv, who your sri lankan team used as a main spinner in a world cup final averages 35 with the ball and can't bat. Kapu, who you batted as a pure batsman at 6 averages 22 with the bat. there are far worse players playing for sri lanka than shakib al hasan.

bro, he is playing for bangaladesh so naturally he gets to bowl and bat more then other class all-rounder, and bangladesh plays more and more matches with teams like ZIM, and Associates nations. so thats why he gets most wickets and runs, i just wish i could have being a bangladeshi so that i could also get in to the national team with my first class record. and come on Randiv is a far better spinner then shakib, only thing is he is yet to play lot of matches ...

Yeah i don't know Why people rate shakiq so high look at the oppositions of B'desh against which he performed and I think He's just a fine All rounder which B'desh have in presence of their Other below par players(Except Tamim)

I fail to see how getting more opportunities to bat and bowl improves his averages

look guys, we all know cricket, this guy plays for a team which have being playing 10 years of test cricket and Bangladesh have played 164 ODIs with test nations other then Zimbabwe..

Won -17
Lost - 147

Call me stupid, but if he is the worlds best alrounder or one ofthe best atlest, they would have a better record!!!!

hmmmmm, well mate, if you get to bat and ball more in matches played with ZIM and other assosiate nations, you will find out

One player doesn't make a team.

You were saying that he bats more and bowls more because the rest of his team is terrible. That means he may score more runs and take more wickets, but it doesn't affect his average.

On playing Zimbabwe, his record is still pretty good if you take that away.

Really...Randiv isn't that good of a spinner..and secondly Shakib plays English domestic now too and that is a good challenge to test your abilities...Shakib would easily make it in the Australian side...I mean Australia would give anything away for a decent spinner...New Zealand would be hard as they have Vettori(I honestly count Vettori a much better bowler than Shakib maybe a tad bit behind the batting department but still)...but he could take Nathan Mccullum's place...for India he would obviously gain a place after Harbhajan retired or something...in Pakistan I think he might just get it.....England obviously better than Yardy and Wright....maybe Samit could put up a good fight but he's been eating a little too much :p....West Indies he obviously would...South Africa would be hard but might just have put up a good fight with Robin Peterson/Johan Botha....Srilanka he would take kapu or Chamara's place and maybe Randiv would lose his place....And secondly Bangladesh play's international teams now too even though they get white washed every time they still try at least. And really how does your average grow by playing more matches?

@Lassana: The way you are rating him....don't tell me you rate his bowling ability equivalent to that of Tillakartne Dilshan.

Bottom line is, I don’t think sahkib is a bad player for BANGLADESH. But telling he can play for any test team is like telling “the Chinese fast bowler ‘ai cangt bowlu fasto’ can play for Australia”

Shakib can play for Australia mate....In my opinion he is a much better spinner than Nathan Hauritz and Xavier Doherty

Shakib is the John Reid of his time. A quality player in a minnow side, just like how Reid was recognized as such a player in the NZ side before 1961/62.
