X-BOX Version, Wireless Controller - Edge Vibration?

@BigAntStudios / @HBK619 can you confirm whether we should be able to feel vibration for edges or if this is a misunderstanding?
There is a threshold with which you won't feel the edge on the controller so as not to be a 'tell'. So very thin edges won't vibrate, however you should be getting vibration sometimes.

Thanks HBK - I've never had a vibration even with some fairly thick edges (including one to slip), so you may want to look at that.

I have rarely felt the controller vibrating on PS3 either. Nothing for edges though.

Have you checked the PS3 settings? Perhaps you manually changed those controller vibration settings. I can recall getting a faint edge off a batsman's bat when I was playing online last night, appealed for it, got it in my favour.

Infact, I absolutely love how this game allows players to actually feel as well as hear the ball kiss the bat's edge and fly into the wicketkeeper's gloves. What is even more satisfying is the provision of feather and thick edges that clearly translate in the varying force of vibration and sound. Manually appeal for it if it's meant to be, seen nothing like it before! :)

Pardon my excitement, please.

PS: It just occurred to me that I use a TurtleBeach Dolby Surround Sound headset which may have benefited my hearing whenever those feather edges were so faint that they didn't translate into vibration but produced a faint sound off the edge.

Wow what a write up. Its a shame that none of that works on 360.

It's possible to turn vibration off in your xbox settings. I just realised that I had it turned off, hence never getting vibrations.

Settings - Preferences - Vibration - Enable Vibration

if you were bowling, you shouldn't have felt any vibration. if you were batting and there was an edge, how did the appeal go in your favour (or was it over-turning an LBW)?

i have definitely not had any vibration when the keeper takes the ball, either.

Interesting points, those. Now that I think about it the bowler should really not be feeling the vibration as in real life. :p I can clearly remember I did, though. And it was at the point the ball made contact with the bat and went to the keeper.

I don't think I have felt vibration when the ball was caught by the keeper or the fielders for that matter.

I have mentioned this before but I had Hafeez saved by a review where the ball had taken a faint edge of the bat and then hit the pad straight in front. I had felt the edge so I reviewed the umpire's decision which was overturned in my favour.

Many edges on PS3 controller, but I don't recall any vibration. However, I do hear the audible sound from the bat which means you have to listen well, esp when you want to challenge the decision. I've gotten a few challenges my way because of the audible.

The edge vibration doesn't work for me either and should be in investigated and patched for the xbox 360 at least seems like ps3 is working. It makes no sense to have no vibration for really thin edges because it would be a tell... I've never once noticed if the other players remote vibrated or not and you can hear it anyway. If it only vibrated slightly like people on ps3 claim only batsmen would know he tickled it lol you could look for tell on your mates face if you didn't hear it which could lead to some good laughs with mates.

I was caught in the slip for the first time and no vibration even for such a thick edge. Checked my controller settings and the vibration is turned on.

On PS3 there is always vibration when I block the ball but never else.

I think the only person who experiences vibration on edges feels them when he bowls so....

I get the vibration a bit randomly when I play mistimed shots but not edges. E.g., I played a hook shot to a slower bouncer and mistimed it and felt the controller vibrate. But the problem is not a biggie as you can usually detect edges and there's almost always a small deflection.

I think the only person who experiences vibration on edges feels them when he bowls so....

:lol
