Zimbabwe Triangular Series 2010

The regular Indian bowlers are Bench Strength quality bowlers, and if you go for Bench bowlers, They are not at all cricketers:laugh.

Only solution available ATM is Make Kohli captain, which can make opponents feel bit difficult with the bowling changes he does.:yes
Raina's bull sh!t regular bowling won't make any difference, and there is no chance that Rania could make few fair logical moves.

@ All Raina supporters: Winning couple of games for CSK with the advices of Hayden, Morkel, Kemp, Dhoni, etc etc is not the talent. Clean Sweeping the World Cup (might be under 19, but its most difficult to estimate the opponent at that tender age), Deodhar Trophy (with the likes of Zaheer Khan, Yusuf Pathan, Ashoke Dinda, Pragyan Ojha, Badrinath as opponent) with own mind is the talent, which needs to be respected.:yes

Better late than never, Give Kohli a chance! I'm sure India will win the tournament if Kohli gets captaincy from the next game on.:yes

C'mon Zim, you're the only team now to keep out the "GREAT TALENT"(:sarcasm) of Suresh Raina- the Cheeka SUPER KING:sarcasm.

And I'm sure that India gonna win World Cup 2015 under Virat Kohli.:yes

2011 will be replica of 2009 and 2010.:laugh

Typical 'Binnu' post. Putting almost all blame on Srikanth, Chennai and Tamilians. Dont lift Virat Kohli too much. He is a good prospect, but it doesnt necessarily mean that the guy who lifted the U-19 World Cup for us would do the same in intl level. Mohd Kaif who also lifted the U-19 WC once for us, is now nowhere (he just had a good 2-3 yrs in Indian cricket as a batsman).

Dhoni's first assignment as ODI captain against Australia started off poorly too. First match was rained off after Australia posted 306, and the 2nd match too, Australia posted 305 and we lost by some 70 odd runs. And this series was played in India which is our stronghold area (we are always supposed to do better in Indian conditions).

They may be a bit of a laughing stock now, but the thing is that a lot of them are a good 5 years, maybe even 10 years before their prime and at the very least, quite a way off playing 100 ODIs. From India's perspective, the adversity they experience now is something they can transfer into the way they build themselves as players for the future. Their main failing is that they've been thrust into the position of playing all the main roles in the team and making all the decisions, when that's not really something they've had a chance to master. A couple of them aren't even really experienced in domestic cricket.

Big names include Zaheer Khan LL, and once he goes the attack is awful (not that Zaheer is in great form nowadays himself)

The only bowler who looks like a potential superstar in the future is Mishra and he is not a seamer

True. But, there are still a few untested bowlers in domestic cricket. Young, raw, and need some developing - this experience in Zimbabwe is only going to help the likes of Dinda, Yadav and Vinay. Even if we don't come away with a victory in this series. The major issue I have with the bowlers is that they're all good at the longer format, but not at the shorter ones, especially the faster bowlers. India's List A competition is bad, the Vijay Hazare Trophy - it's dominated by the batsmen. The tournaments that actually test your calibre as a domestic player, which only include the best players from the domestic scene...are very short and usually involve only 1/2 games for each team.

And, I think this Indian team is definitely more talented than the Zimbabwe squad. The difference is their lack of experience, and even then, you could argue that Zimbabwe haven't had a lot of experience themselves. I consider it an upset. Seeing how easily Nohit was belting the bowlers - clearly Vijay/KDK could've done the same.

Ridiculous to not call it an upset, I bet at 5-1 odds on Zimbabwe last night, all the bookie sites had Zimbabwe at 5-1 or more.

It'd have been a upset if it was Indians regular squad. But this is their bench team. So well done Zims.

Give some time for the bowlers to settle down. They are new kids & new kids were treated like new kids without any doubts. ;) To be frank, none bothers even if India win/looses this series as far as I know. And people like Yuvraj, Dhoni etc were given rest not based on runs they scored, it was based on amount of cricket they played. They are also humans & not robots. :sarcasm It's good time for rested players to get a nice gap & come back fresh.

It's not at all pathetic.

Odds need not always be fair. I guess those odds took into account Zimbabwe have not been as regularly seen on the cricket field as they used to be once. And they seemed to think that India's young stars no matter how good they are, will beat Zimbabwe. Now the odds after this game will change.

And India will still be favored. Its an upset any way you look at it, and the bookmakers never lie.

I would also call it the 'first game blues on an overseas tour'. We take time getting acclimatised to conditions (this happens with all Indian squads, senior or junior). And if the opposition is of equal or better strength, you could face that defeat if you are not yet upto it.

Upset from the bookies point of view. But its not the upset where you get embarassed about. I frankly dont mind even if we dont win a single game in this tri-series.

No blame to India as they doono have senior experienced player in the Squad then how can one we expect from them. There are many who are giving Debut in International Cricket.

Wow didn't even know this was on but well done Zimbabwe, should teach teams not to go understrength to them next time. (Not having a go at India, I would have sent a understrength team too)
