As a short introduction into cricket, Zimbabwe will host Kenya for two ten over one-day internationals both taking place at Harare. Here are the patches I will be using for this story:

Cool Gameplay patch version 2

Sky Sports TV graphics patch version 1.95

Kits Update

I will also be using default line ups. The first match will have details at midweek/early weekend.

EDIT: This story is now being continued by arkmarkell. Scroll down for details.

I'll be Zimbabwe. After some security problems at the Kenyan hotel the solectors and authorities have delayed announcing squads and dates until Tuesday at 5.00pm GMT. Apparently Tikolo had a stone threw at his hotel room window and the police are on safety alert.

There have been major arrests at the Kenyan hotel and the team has been moved to a secret location. Here is Sky Sport's Tim Abraham with the latest. "Well, the news here is that the Kenyan team have been moved to a secret location in Harare, after security alerts. Two major arrests have been made at the hotel, one of the men arrested reported to have had a kitchen knife in a bag," he said. "Not great news for the start of this tour." More soon.

All the fracas about the arrests is now clear, and the teams are now thinking about the cricket. Heath Streak, the Zimbabwe captain, had an interview with Sky Sports.
"We are really looking forward to the matches. It is going to be really tough for us, but I think the betting shops have the more money on our name."
It is a busy time for the Zimbabweans, playing Kenya here and then waiting to welcome the USA squad to their country in August. (This means Brian Lara International Cricket.)

Hi, I'm sorry but I will be too busy this week to play the Zimbabwe v Kenya series. I think I will try a story thread with Brian Lara International Cricket when that is released. Sorry for the trouble and could you please lock this thread.

Thanks

Zimbabwe vs Kenya from Harare.Live On SkySports
1st ODI.50 overs
Play shall commence soon.Stay tuned.

Welcome to this great day for cricket in Harare, on the safari plain of Africa. Conditions are hot and sunny and should favour batting.

The toss is about to be undertaken. Kenya have won the toss and Tikolo has elected to bat. Not a surprising decision at all.

After the first 15 overs, Kenya are 61/0.Shah and Otieono ahve kept the scoreboard ticcking over.Shah looking the best with some cracking cover drives for four. The closest the Zimbabweans came to the breakthrough was the referal of a runout to the 3rd umpire. The batsmen received the gren light. The next phase of the match should be interesting. Will be back soon.

Report after 25 overs

At the Halfway point, Kenya are 100/3. After some very tight bowling from the Zimbabweans restricting the Kenyans to 4 an over, the pressure created 2 runout chances. Both occured from the batsmen looking for the 2nd run. Some great ground fielding and throwing in the outfield accounted for the dismissals of Otieno(30) and Shah(45). Both batsmen got starts and will be disappointed to not go on. The need to push the run rate once again accounted for the next wicket to fall, Modi(0) who tried to clear the infield after a tight field was kept by Streak. He was caught off a mistimed shot by Price.Hondo bowled very tightly to get the breakthrough.Odumbe reached the crease and smashed a six straight over the bowlers head. The Kenyans will be looking to push the runrate. At the current rate they will reach 200. On a batting friendly pitch they will be looking for a far few more than that.

1.Modi skies a mistimed shot of Hondo, to fall for a duck.
2.Odumbe looks in great nick, smashing his first ball for four behind point.
3.His third ball went for a huge six over the bowlers head.
