Review Planetcricket.net Official Review

I don't really think they would release a patch for game play ( I hope I am wrong) but I think the only circumstances they would release a patch, if there was a major issue with the game such as crashing

Codemasters would need to approve for a patch to be made then they would need to release to Sony and Microsoft and seeing they didn't give demo release for PS3 gives me the feeling that it would cost too much to be made

Well, a gameplay patch is what the game needs!!

Still, there's always the genius people here.

Yeah I agree...we just need a damn patch to fix the sillyness! It would give it so much more longevity...I decided to have another go at the demo and surprise surprise the AI ran themselves out 6 times within 5 overs!! So yeah...I know its better in the retail version but still, a patch is desperately needed or Codies/Transmission could see a lot of returns very soon

Regardless of patch or no patch plenty of people are enjoying the game and that's what's important. I've lost count of the games with faults I've somehow managed to play and enjoy, but it still irritates me that as consumers we are treated this way. There are very few other leisure areas where the buyers are so consistantly let down.
Never mind, tommorrow I'll dual boot my pc with Windows 7 and get the full game loaded along with ICC & CC09 and see how it goes. Hopefully they'll all run on it.:D

I had a match a short while back that would've been hugely realistic, were it not for the six runouts... :doh

What's ICC & CC09?

What's ICC & CC09?
International Cricket Captain & Cricket Coach 2009. I dl them to try as I've just retired, I may now get some real time to play these in depth. Along with a pile of other games sitting waiting to go onto my gaming pc.

You're a retired gamer, eh? Good for you - if more older people play games, then this idea that games are only for children/teenagers will be able to hold even less water.

Anyway, enjoy your games! :)

I think that idea is already long gone. The vast bulk of gamers I know are in their 30s and the most serious gamer I know is 50. Remember that a lot of people like myself have been gaming for over 30 years.
It's like sex, the younger generations always believe they discovered it first.:laugh

Agreed, it has the best potential for a cricket game I've ever seen, including BLIC 99.

Do you reckon there will be a patch? I'd prefer if Codemasters didn't have a say, because I didn't like their idea of patching BLIC 2007 (non existant).

How are the guys breaking the AI's agressiveness?

I have no idea, Steve. I'd love there to be a patch, it's a logical decision as far as I'm concerned. But Codies haven't patch any of their previous attempts. Last patched game was Cricket 02 by EA. We've had 5 games between EA and Codies since then.

That's what worries me. Still, going by the progress they're making in the downloads section, I'm sure they'll come up with enough fixes to keep us happy.

are you going to write up a review once you get it? I want to know what you think when you finally get that copy in your hands.

Everyone keeps mentioning that C2k2 was patched by EA but what they don't mention is that the patch did nothing except create a registry entry labelled "files for crappy patch".

9 for Graphics! That can't be right.
There are good points discussed in the review but it seemed as if it was written in vain. A bit unbalanced IMO. One won't buy the game reading this review even if it was given surprisingly 75. While I was in the middle of the review I thought it'll get no more than 5/10.

Did anyone try seeming the ball as you progress in the innings. That might be the reason for the AI being too aggressive. I see it hitting me all over in the demo if I bowl cutters at the beginning of the match. May be Transimission designed it so that we vary the bowling as the ball grows older.

Are they Watching???

Hey all... Nice to see such mixed reactions to this game... and I feel lucky I did not pre-order it flowing in the wave of positive hype created before the release.

The point is ... everyone is commenting and exposing the negative things and bugs in this game.. and even I noticed lots of bugs in the Demo... But.. Is it possible.. that Heath or any one from Development Team or from Codies watching and taking notice of all these bugs... and may be .. planning to release an official patch!?? Do they really care now...

Since the release I have not seen any official coming on to this forum and respond to our questions and worries!!
