Australia's team this summer

Probably the only guy that could get the push is Hussey but the selectors will give him the summer just like they did with Hayden but really the Windies and Pakistan aren't the best side to measure a players form.

Selectors really rate Siddle, Hilfenhaus will be given the 1st series this summer minimum and Johnson is a given. So Lee/Clark will only get a go if we don't go in with a spinner.

I would go with a team like this:

Hughes
Jaques
Ponting
Clarke
Katich( To strenghten our middle order)
North
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz
Clark
Hilfenhaus

Jaques will have to prove himself again, when he came back from injury last season he was way off the pace.

I'm backing the Windies to win atleast one test in Australia, and with a bowling attack featuring Taylor, Edwards, and Roach I think the bowlers will give your batsmen a pretty big test.

That's if they're actually back playing; remember that the big guns haven't been picked for the Champions Trophy... :p

Nothing against them but if Hussey starts scoring 100s against them how much can we read into that?

Well that depends, if he gets Bopara luck and is dropped 2-3 times during his innings then I wouldn't rate it. But if they show up and really want to play I think they'll test Australia.

Hussey wont be around for to much longer though would he?

Hard to say, never thought a guy called Mr Cricket would lose interest in the game though. Most likely he would have to be pushed but that will only happen if we lose a series.

If Australia win the last test match against England and Hussey atleast makes 50 in the test then he wont be dropped. He will atleast be given the series against the windies in Aus to perform. If Aus do lose the last Test against england then i think Hussey will be dropped for hughes.

And i think if Ponting will continue captaning Australia atleast until the next Ashes Series

If Australia win last test and Hussey makes atleast 50

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
North
Haddin
Johnson
Lee/Clark
Hauritz
Hilfenhaus

If Australia Lose to England in last test and Hussey continues bad form

Hughes
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
North
Watson
Haddin
Johnson
Lee/Clark
Hauritz
Hilfenhaus

Just like to say - Pomersbach is well and truly screwed. Pretty sure he got into a few hit and runs the other day, I can't see him continuing his career.

I don't know the finer details of what happened, but you could probably find someething online.

I really dont see how anyone thinks you can drop peter siddle... he is bowling way too welll and on a bouncy gabba or wacca pitch... he will be a handful

Katich
Hughes
Ponting
Clarke
North
Watson
Haddin
Johnson
Siddle
Hauritz/Krejza
Hilfenhaus

I know the haurtiz has done a job but i just think that Krejza is a better option, he gets good drift and turn, just needs to keep it out side off... he bowled too straight at the wacca which isnt really a spinners paradise so why judge a spinner on that anyway

^Well Siddle is probably 3rd peg now after Hilfenhaus' excellent series. Hilfy is particularly useful because he's ACCURATE. Mitch and Siddle and Brett Lee are not. Therefore in my book, Hilfy (or Stuart Clark) is a MUST for an attack.

But I have no problem with thinking that Brett Lee is a better attacking option than Siddle. It's not some crazy theory, Siddle is not quite there yet. It's just a question of if/how long the selectors want to play Brett Lee. Siddle is obviously the future, so Lee may be on the outer, especially this summer where it would be a good chance to make changes (because we are finally not playing England, South Africa or India).

Krejza? I dunno. If we played Clark AND Hilfenhaus, we could probably afford Krejza. But otherwise he's too expensive, he can't build pressure enough. Can bowl some good balls though.

Krejza did bowl a number of balls outside offstump, the problem was, Kallis and co knew it was always going to come towards them so he changed to the offstump guard and was able to flick him to legside with ease. Krejza needs an arm ball or dosara if he wants to get back to this level.
