Post your IPL 2012 XI with respect to the following rules
Rules:
My IPL XI in accordance to the rules
1. Virender Sehwag (DD)
2. Chris Gayle (RCB) - Foreign Player 1
3. Rahul Dravid (RR)
4. Suresh Raina (CSK)
5. Rohit Sharma (MI)
6. AB de Villiers (RCB) - Foreign Player 2
7. Rahul Sharma (PWI)
8. Parvinder Awana (KXIP)
9. Dale Steyn (DC) - Foreign Player 3
10. Sunil Narina (KKR) - Foreign Player 4
11. Umesh Yadav (DD)
Composition
Chennai Super Kings: 1 (Suresh Raina)
Deccan Chargers: 1 (Dale Steyn)
Delhi Daredevils: 2 (Virender Sehwag, Umesh Yadav)
Kings XI Punjab: 1 (Parvinder Awana)
Kolkata Knight Riders: 1 (Sunil Narina)
Mumbai Indians: 1 (Rohit Sharma)
Pune Warriors India: 1 (Rahul Sharma)
Rajasthan Royals: 1 (Rahul Dravid)
Royal Challengers Bangalore: 2 (Chirs Gayle, AB de Villiers)
Total: 11 players
Lasith Malinga misses out as I rate Steyn very highly, and bringing Steyn in would mean that there were 5 overseas players, so unfortunately Malinga misses out. Rahul Sharma stands nowhere near the best of IPL 2012 but he seemed to be the only choice I had from PWI to fit into my team's balance.
Dhawan, Rahane and Gambhir miss out as Gayle and Sehwag have done exceptionally well. Sehwag scored 495 runs, little 50 short than Dhawan, Rahane and Gambhir but his SR gives him the edge above the two. And regarding Gayle, well he is an automatic choice.
Rahul Dravid at #3 just to provide some solidity in the middle. Although he has opened for RR throughout the season, I feel that he will do really well at #3. He can be very much similar to the role Jacques Kallis had in the KKR this year.
Rules:
- 4 overseas players only
- At least one player from each team
