Australia in India 2013/14-Limited Overs

Dude get over this Faulkner thing...he did nothing special...

Yeah, nothing special. Batsmen hit 4 sixes and a 4 in an over in ODI matches all the time :noway

Ball 1: Full and wide, Faulkner hits it sweetly over cover and it races to the boundary for FOUR.

Ball 2: Shorter, Faulkner picks up the length early and swings hard over cow corner for SIX. Flies about 25 rows back and the ball takes several minutes to return from the crowd.

Ball 3: A short-length ball is picked beautifully and sent straight back over the bowler?s head for another monster SIX.

Ball 4: Another shorter delivery is smacked to deep square leg. A four seems certain but the ball is saved on the boundary. TWO runs.

Ball 5: Another short ball is hooked high and long by Faulkner into the crowd. SIX more runs.

Ball 6: Sharma drops short once more and Faulkner is all over it. A sweetly-timed pull sails into the stands for SIX more to bring up Faulkner?s 50.

:cheers

Seems like yorkers have gone out of fashion. Why can't professional cricketers bowl yorkers? How hard can it be?

I seem to be asking myself the same question everytime I watch an ODI or T20 these days. Apparently they are easier to hit now though, well thats the excuse thats given anyway. Seems to work ok for Lasith Malinga, probably the worlds best death bowler.

The two important reasons for indian loss are Ishant sharma's 30 runs over and poor captaincy from dhoni when everything was going smoothly gave kohli a chance to bowl and it cost 17 runs btw well played Faulkner.

Thrilling batting by both sides in this series but we need to be honest, the pitches have been God damn awful and the bowling...well the less said the better. Pakistan probably have the only bowling side that can do well in these conditions, proven earlier in the year. I'd really like to see a full series between Pak and India some times soon, ODIs, Tests and T20s, while the likes of Ajmal and Irfan are still around for Pakistan and Dhoni and Yuvraj for India. These is a great battle.

I remember there was someone called Rudra Pratap Singh :rolleyes

He can do a much better job than Ishant Sharma in my opinion. Infact, Laxmipathy Balaji can be a better performer than Ishant.

It's typical Dhoni style of backing up his team with defense. I see the signs of a best leadership regardless of Ishant being a crap or not.

It's not about Pakistan doing well. They did well in that series because the conditions were bowler friendly throughout that series which is quite strange in India. If you look in that series, it was dominated by the bowlers because new Indian bowlers also did well but definitely Pakistan had better bowling attack so they ended up winning the series. In this series however, the pitches are extremely flat and there is absolutely no help for the bowlers. In India you generally expect spinners to get some assistant but because of the dew factor they have been highly ineffective.

Umar Gul too. But yea the more T20 games are played worldwide - the yorker bowling ability by quicks gets worse and worse.

They seem more interested in overbowling other variations like slower balls, slower bouncers etc.

Sure batsman play the yorker better - but its still the best way to get them out in the slog overs.

Don't be an idiot. It takes a man to hit 30 in an over, no matter how bad a bowler is.

So you think a woman cricketer cannot hit 30 runs an over? Use some other word like "power", "skills", "strength", etc please.

Indian team squad unchanged for the next ODI's :(:(:(:(:(:(

The squad has not been changed. But the playing XI can still be changed. And I don't see very many options to replace Ishant right now. Yadav is injured it seems, and Aaron's injury is a never ending one. And I am guessing that we have permanently dumped the likes of Munaf, Nehra, etc. Praveen Kumar can be an option, but with Bhuvi and Vinay, I dont think the selectors want another military medium bowler. Though I would say Praveen is a better option than Vinay.

I think Ishant will be persisted with, with the WC in mind. Probably some former cricketer needs to take him up to the side and work with him very closely and help him out.

Jaydev Unadkat is a good option to replace ishant in the next odi.he can add a variety with this left arm bowling much quicker than bhuvi and vinay and he has a successful Zimbabwe tour too.
