England's tour of India (Nov '16/Feb '17)

We've won the series , be satisfied & Jadhav played well , atleast the match went all the way to the final ball & India fighted :)
Fought*

I've lost 209k on India, 100k on Pak and 5M on SA in a single day. :(

Well Jadhav and Pandya ,with 6 from 4 you would back India but woakes hold his nerves to win it fir England just like he did in the one off t20 game in 2014.

Jadhav could've gone for a two on the third ball, can't change what's happened. We've lost finally, :(
Only they know what they feel at that moment. We can sit here and say they could've done that way, this way.

And Jadhav did same mistake what MSD did, not trusting the non striker who's capable of batting... After all no complaints, what's done is done.

I would still go for Rohit-Dhawan for the [HASHTAG]#CT17[/HASHTAG]
You're right.... Since, no opening batsman seems to be in great form at the moment... Rohit-Dhawan would be the best for CT... They have experience..[DOUBLEPOST=1485102114][/DOUBLEPOST]
Ashwin is the most useless limited overs cricketer I've seen. It's perhaps right he was given the cricketer of the year award by the ICC since the ICC is an absolute joke!
Any specific reason behind that?

What will they do with that experience? Make pickle out of it? My concern here is that what is the use of having experience if you score single digit and get out. What will the experience be doing? Warming the bench after getting out? (Dhawan is the main concern)

Tough luck for India! Jadhav almost took us over the line with that innings. Some silly mistakes cost us the game in the end.

We need lot of work with our opening pair problems. I will back Rahul to be one of the options in the long run, but none of the other three impress me in anyway (Rahane, Dhawan and Rohit). We need an opening pair that is capable of attacking. Dhawan gets out too often. Rohit is successful at opening only because he starts off slowly and builds it up. But that gameplay is old fashioned. Rahane does not have the capability of switching gears and if he tries, he looks ugly and often gets out. Maybe we need to think out of the box and try options like Pant, Parthiv, etc who are capable of attacking cricket from the word go. For the CT, I would retain Rahane, bring back Rohit in for Dhawan and keep Rahul.

Why wasn't Ashwin dropped? Just because of his reputation?

Why should he be dropped? He won us that last game (and the series) with 3 prized wickets of Root, Stokes and Buttler. Ashwin has to be retained and needs to be our frontline spinner in ODI's for quite sometime. For some who crib about the way Ashwin talks, Ashwin has a much calmer mouth than our captain, Kohli. Kohli shoots off his mouth and its funny that in a team captained by him, a guy like Ashwin is criticized for talking.:facepalm

(Dhawan is the main concern)
And you will replace him with? Rahul? I don't think so.... Rahane? Maybe, but his form currently is shit... Mandeep? Unteseted... Kohli? Who will fill the no. 3 spot then....

When you don't have good players to choose from, you take the best possible person....

Also, don't forget India won the CT because of Dhawan.. He was the man of the tournament...

But msd outrightly rejected a single and the other batsman was Ambati Rayudu who himslef is very good striker unlike Bhuvi.
Jadhav almost cleared the boundary but it end it was England who prevailed.

Pakistan won the WT20 becuase of Afridi. Should we recall him to the T20 team?
I don't follow Pakistan cricket much... But I think, Imad Wasim is a great replacement for him... India don't currently have a tested, in-form opening batsman who can go and face bowlers on English pitches in the CT

KL Rahul is better option than single digit Dhawan. He atleast scores some runs than Dhawan.

Is he the only BEST option? Dinesh Karthik can even open if required. Rishabh Pant smashes everything that comes on his way. Parthiv Patel has recently won Ranji Trophy for his domestic team Gujarat etc...
Also, don't forget India won the CT because of Dhawan.. He was the man of the tournament...
Even Yuvi did in 2011 WC. Why didn't he get selected for 2015 WC for his experience even though he was performing fabulously in domestic series at that time?

Dhawan has an outstanding odi record almost equivalent to Root and smith but the thing is when he is out of touch he looks nothing but a mediocre player.
8 of his 9 hundreds have come in winning causes and averages 43 with the bat.
If he played for Pakistan he would have been their best batsman.
