Decided to play a current series to mix it up a bit, Pakistan v India 2016.

Pakistan v India - Test Series 2016 - Series Preview

India will tour Pakistan for a 6 Test series in May/June 2016.

The full tour schedule is as follows:

4 day match v Pakistan Board President's XI at Lahore
4 day match v Pakistan Board XI at Karachi
1st Test at Peshawar
2nd Test at Faisalabad
3rd Test at Multan
4th Test at Karachi
5th Test at Rawalpindi
6th Test at Lahore

Pakistan Pitches 1999 and onwards:

Batting can be difficult at PESHAWAR with its low-bounce early on and help for the spinners later. FAISALABAD wickets are often fast but true, and some big totals have been posted there. At MULTAN batting can be easy on pitches that offer no assistance to the bowlers, or very difficult when a spinners' wicket is prepared, or when the seamers get helpful conditions early on. At the National Stadium in KARACHI the pitch is often lively on the first day but thereafter that batting becomes easier until late in the match when the spinners get some help from the wicket. Batting first at RAWALPINDI can be unhealthy, for the pitch can be lively and with an uneven bounce on the first day before settling down to favour the batsmen. At LAHORE there are plenty of runs to be had from slow-paced pitches although early on there can be some help for the quickies.

India squad:

M.Vijay
S.Dhawan
K.L.Rahul
C.A.Pujara
V.Kohli (c)
A.M.Rahane
R.G.Sharma
S.K.Raina
W.P.Saha (wk)
P.A.Patel (wk)
S.T.R.Binny
R.Ashwin
V.Yadav
R.A.Jadeja
A.Mishra
B.Kumar
M.Shami
I.Sharma
U.T.Yadav

Strong in batting and spin bowling, this side could be one of the strongest Indian teams to tour Pakistan in history.
Pakistan themselves are always capable of beating anyone anywhere, so this promises to be an exciting series.

Pakistan Board President's XI v India - 4 day First Class match 2016 - Karachi - Match Preview

Pitch: 60 - A fast paced wicket, especially on the first day and that will please the quickies. The batsmen will appreciate the ball coming quickly onto the bat too, so this should be a good game of cricket. Later in the match the pitch may quieten down a bit but the bounce will always be lively and there is a possibility that the spinners, especially wrist spinners will also get into the act on the final day.

Day 1 Weather: 2 - Hot and sunny

Day 1 starting pitch: 7A - Fast paced wicket

Pakistan Board President's XI:

Sami Aslam
Ahmed Shehzad (c)
Babar Azam
Fawad Alam
Iftikhar Ahmed
Mohammad Nawaz
Adnan Akmal (wk)
Zulfiqar Babar
Mohammad Aamir

Imran Khan jnr

India XI:

K.L.Rahul
S.Dhawan
C.A.Pujara
V.Kohli (c)
R.G.Sharma
W.P.Saha (wk)
R.A.Jadeja
J.Yadav
B.Kumar
A.Mishra
I.Sharma

Pakistan Board President's XI features a number players in contention for the Test series, and this is an important game for them to show their skills.
India are not full strength, having left out Ashwin and Rahane, though the team looks strong it should be an interesting game.
With the pitch set to heavily favour spin late in the match it becomes an important toss.

Pakistan Board President's XI v India - 4 day First Class match 2016 - National Stadium Karachi

Pitch: 60

Weather: 2,3,2

Toss: India

India won their first warmup match easily as the home side failed to cope with a varied and lively bowling attack.
Rahul and Jadeja made half centuries in the visitors first innings, before Jadeja took over with the ball, registering an easy 5 wicket haul.
A century to Pujara in the Indian 2nd innings set a target of 389 in a day and a half, and 5 wickets to Bhuveshnar Kumar ensured an easy victory.
Victory by 269 left the Indians feeling very confident ahead of their 2nd warmup game in Lahore, with all their players gaining something from this match.

India won by 269 runs

Man of the Match: R.A.Jadeja

India 304 all out (68 overs)

Pakistan Board XI v India - 4 day First Class match 2016 - Gaddafi Stadium Lahore

Pitch: 22 - A carefully prepared home track that will certainly favour the spinners later in the match. Batting should be relatively easy for the first couple of days but thereafter the spinners should find conditions increasingly in their favour. Not much in it for the quickies at any time.

Day 1 pitch: 3 - Normal

Day 1 weather: 2 - Hot and sunny

Pakistan Board XI:

Khurram Manzoor
Shan Masood
Babar Azam
Umar Akmal
Shoaib Malik (c)
Kamran Akmal (wk)
Iftikhar Ahmed
Mohammad Nawaz
Sohail Khan
Rahat Ali
Ehsan Adil

Indian XI:

K.L.Rahul
M.Vijay
V.Kohli (c)
A.M.Rahane
S.K.Raina
N.V.Ojha (wk)
R.Ashwin
S.T.R.Binny
A.Mishra
Mohammad Shami
U.T.Yadav

India rotate their squad to give everyone some match practice before the Test series starts, while the home side's bowlers will be most under scrutiny as far as Test selection is concerned.
The ease with which India won the 1st game makes them favourites for this one, with the pitch set to heavily favour spin late in the match.

Pakistan Board XI v India - 4 day First Class match 2016 - Gaddafi Stadium Lahore

Pitch: 22

Toss: India

A big hundred to Murali Vijay gave India an advantage they held throughout their 2nd win inside 3 days on tour.
Ashwin bowled his offspin effectively in both innings, while Amit Mishra continued to push his claim for a spot in the Test XI with his legspin.
There was little to write home about for the home side in 2nd disappointing performance by the pakistani fringe players on tour.
India won by their 2nd big margin, this time 255 runs, and Murali Vijay was named Man of the Match.

India 424/7 declared (121.3 overs)
(M,Vijay 191, V.Kohli 51, S.K.Raina 55, N.V.Ojha 24, R.Ashwin 53*, S.R.T.Binny 28; Sohail Khan 2-76, Mohammad Nawaz 2-70)

Pakistan Board XI 165 all out (57 overs)
(Khurram Manzoor 20, Shan Masood 27, Babar Azam 49, Mohamamad Nawaz 29; R.Ashwin 5-38)

India 184/4 declared (46.1 overs)
(K.L.Rahul 36, V.Kohli 28, S.K.Raina 50*, N.V.Ojha 57*; Rahat Ali 2-36, Ehsan Adil 2-24)

Pakistan 188 all out (50.2 overs)
(Khurram Manzoor 22, Shan Masood 44, Umar Akmal 43, Shoaib Malik 32; R.Ashwin 3-31, A.Mishra 4-36)

India win by 255 runs

Pakistan v India - 1st Test 2016 - Peshawar - Match Preview

Pitch: 80 - Clay coloured strip, dry and very dusty. Should play fairly easily although the bounce may be rather low. Late in the game the pitch may begin to assist the spinners.

Day 1 Weather: 2 - Hot and sunny

Injuries:
Pakistan:
Zulfiqar Babar - 2 matches
Asad Shafiq - 2 matches

Pakistan XI:

Mohammad Hafeez
Azhar Ali
Babar Azam
Younis Khan
Misbah-ul-Haq (c)
Sarfraz Ahmed (wk)
Mohammad Nawaz
Yasir Shah
Wahab Riaz
Rahat Ali
Ehsan Adil

India XI:

M.Vijay
S.Dhawan
C.A.Pujara
V.Kohli (c)
A.M.Rahane
W.P.Saha (wk)
R.Ashwin
R.A.Jadeja
B.Kumar
A.Mishra
U.T.Yadav

Pakistan named a makeshift lineup because of injury, with Babar Azam coming in at number 3 to make his debut in place of Asad Shafiq, and allrounder Mohammad Nawaz as a like for like replacement for left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar.
With the reserve openers form unimpressive in the tour matches Azhar Ali moves up to open.
Ehsan Adil is probably the major surprise, named ahead of a few others for his ability to find swing, something that might prove valuable when the pitch flattens out.
India named a predictable lineup, with Rahane retaining his place despite a pair in the tour match, and Mishra making the side in place of a 6th batsman.
India appear favourites judging by their bowlers form on tour so far, but experienced batsmen Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq should ensure a tight contest.

Pakistan v India - 1st Test 2016 - Peshawar

Pitch: 80

Toss: India

This match was a good contest for the first 2 days, but India pulled ahead on an improving pitch, amassing a big second innings score, to set Pakistan what would have been a world record run chase.
Good bowling by the Indian spinners saw Pakistan slump to defeat.
Rahat bowled well early in India's first innings, bowling 3 batsmen in an inspired spell, and with Yasir and Hafeez backing him up, India were all out shortly after Tea for 209.
Babar Azam scored 89 for Pakistan in reply, but good swing bowling by Kumar with 6 wickets restricted the home team to a 51 run lead.
Pujara set things up in the 2nd innings, though the others also found run scoring easy on a pitch that flattened out and was best for batting on Day 3.
Jadeja took 6 wickets to send Pakistan to defeat, but Man of the Match was Pujara, for top scoring in both Indian innings, his 2nd innings century putting the visitors in control.

India won by 265 runs

Pakistan 260 all out (77.1 overs)
(Mohammad Hafeez 32, Babar Azam 89, Younis Khan 45; B.Kumar 6-70)

India 552 all out (154 overs)
