After an unexpected break when the FA were having rows about the Premiership system the Planetcricket Premiership finally resumed on last day of September and some intresting results followed.

Birmingham 1 - Bolton 0
After just 2 minutes Birmingham went ahead and it ended up being the only goal of the game. The goal came in the form of Mikel Forssel. A range of other shots followed from either side but an array of stunning saves and silly shots lead to the game ending at 1-0.

Chelsea 4 - 0 Blackburn
Chelsea hit top form as 4 goals came in just over 30 minutes. 2 Schevchenko goals and 2 Pizarro goals took chelsea to another 3 points. Blackburn and Chelsea both had 5 shots each on target but only chelsea came away with goals.

Derby 0 -1 Newcastle
A 34th minute strike by Obafemi Martins sealed an excellent 3 points for a Newcastle. Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given got Man of the Match for keeping out 9 on goal shots for this he won the Man of the Match award.

Everton 0 - 1 Man Utd
A poor Everton team showed little quality against Man Utd. The visitors only managed to score one goal. That came through midfielder Paul Scholes as stunning shot nearly ripped straight through the everton net.

Manchester City 2 - Aston Villa 1
An entertaining game saw City take the 3 points in a close encounter. After 10 minutes Vassell got the breakthrough as he headed in at the near post. Villa equalized through Carew as he slipped the ball through the legs of Isaksson. Only for City to come straight back, Vasell with a deft chip over keeper Sorenson.

Portsmouth 1 - 0 Liverpool

A shock win for Portsmouth as Liverpool failed to ever play well and looked a s if they never got off the coach. Portsmouth failed to really capitalize on the Liverpool lack of concentration untill the 77th minute when O Neill headed home off a corner.

Sunderland 1 - 0 Reading
Sunderland looked to kick start their Premiership Campaign with a win at Reading. They got the early breakthrough after 7th minutes when young gun Chopra scored from 16 yards out. The rest of the game was fairly evenly matched with the game being marrred by controversy when reading were disallowed a goal after Richardson was deemed offside.

Tottenham 1 - Arsenal 2

2 late Arsenal goals grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat as they recreated Manchester United's Champions League final against Bayern Munich in 98 as 2 Van Persie goals made sure Arsenal kept up there good start.

Wigan 1 - 1 Fulham
An equally matched game saw fulham grab a well deserved point on the last play of the game. Wigan should have been 2-0 up after 51 minutes but Kirkland provided a wonderfull save off a penalty. Bullard found the back of the net in the last minute as Bouba Dioup perfectly wieghted a pass for Bullard to equalize
