It's a warmup. I'd be pretty pissed if MSD decided to give overs to bowlers who didn't need the extra practice than to those who did.

Having said that, pretty good bowling effort. Bhajji taking a few wickets in his handful of overs, Chawla and Ashwin getting good long spells, Sree getting Watson (<3 Sree), Yuvi getting a bowl and getting a wicket.


Good stuff. Although tbh I would have preferred if India lost now, don't want them peaking too soon. Get the bad performances out of the way in the warmups/group stages, peak during the quarters.

Aussie should be relieved to know that there are not many wickets in SL like this. Yes they got turn but they are slow and dont have too much bounce. So you can negotiate it. Yet it would be a tough task for them

Remember, it was just a warmup. We better not gets excited. The real game has yet to start. Australia can look into a positive way as losing a game will only help them to perform better.

India has to play two spinner along with Zaheer and Sreesanth.

Problem with 2 spinners arise in conditions where dew will be a factor in the second innings. Massive gamble then. And one that isn't needed with Yusuf, Yuvi and potentially Raina to fill in overs of spin.

Sree, Zak, Nehra, Bhajji seems to be the combo, with Chawla looking very likely to come in if they need 2 spinners.
