I don't think the idea of promoting CSK ahead sounds fair. Just because of a rain, one cannot decide which advances to final and which gets eliminated with their past results in the tournament.

See the past contests between RCB and CSK.
In IPL 2008: RCB-CSK: 1-1
In IPL 2009: RCB-CSK:2-1
In IPL 2010: RCB-CSK:1-1
Overall: RCB-CSK: 4-3

And the game which fetches RCB the lead is the all important IPL 2009 Semi Final, which can even be taken into consideration.

They cant have games outside of this competition to influence the finalist (in case of a washout). Here, someone has to go to the final. Both teams wouldnt have played much of cricket (in case its a washout). So the best predictor is who topped their group. Or Net Run rate. Even in the NRR, Chennai is way ahead of Bangalore (with a +2 RR). Bangalore should just hope this is not a washout.

I find it moronic that there's no reserve day for a semi-final.

Chennai had Wayamba and CD in their group. So the high NRR isn't that much of a surprise. But, oh well, it's a pretty stupid way to decide a finalist.

Atleast, they should make it a double header tomorrow with two semi finals in same day if the game washes out.
Cheenai is going to semis because of their league performance? WTF, What is the point in having knockout games then? CL format is fully corrupted.
Its going to final if the game is abandoned:(.
This is not proper way to promote a team to final from semi final!:facepalm

If they are so particular on having a look at past, check out the total games RCB and CSK played! RCB won 4 out of 7 and is in lead!

Uhh, no... that's a stupid idea. We are living in the present, not the past.

Why are you counting their H2H from previous tournaments Binnu? That makes no sense whatsoever...

Becaus Binnu can only talk about 2 things- Hyderabad and RCB. He loses all sense of logic and reason when he does.

Thats a lot better than the existing system!
The existing system is even crappier as both the teams are nowhere related in the pasture of current tournament.
