That is great! As I live on mainland Europe, or Europe as we call it here, I am well chuffed. Am actually getting nice and excited for the start on Wednesday.

I'm pleased lovely Trent Bridge is in the spotlight as the ground for the first Test. For me, it's the finest cricket ground in the country. I've been three times: to the last three days of the Test against India in 2007, the fourth day of the Test against New Zealand in 2008 (the match was over in an hour!) and to two ODIs against Australia in 2009. I can't wait for it to get started!

My money is on England winning the first test (Obviously ) , after having a lousy first innings with the bat, and fantastic display of bowling by them in the second!
I'm more keen on seeing who will bat at 3 for the Aussies, and if Warner and Harris would play!

I haven't been confident of us playing well or winning the series lately but with our batsmen not falling apart in the practice games I'm building confidence. Also really keen to watch some good Ashes cricket.

England bowlers say Trent Bridge unlikely to be 'swinger's paradise' - Times Of India

Swann and Broad have complained that conditions at Trent Bridge this season have not been favouring the Nottinghamshire seam bowlers, with the last two County Championship matches at the ground petering out into draws.

In no way can we rule out a drawn game now! Nice to see how well the Aussies play Swann then!

The bookies should stop taking bets if Billy Cooper gets his trumpet into TB! I can (sort of) understand why he can't play his trumpet at Lords (cue Dutchad's one liner!) but it's madness that TB is doing this. What's next, no men dressed as nuns???? Where does it all end!??

That's out of date; Trent Bridge have re-affirmed no. It's a legal issue due to the T&Cs on the tickets apparently.

Seems like Lyon is gone, I think Smith is playing too. Waiting for confirmation.

Hopefully this left arm spin thing works better than stuffing Doherty into the team for the 10/11 Ashes. Was probably done for the same reasons, KP vs left armers is dodgy, lots of right handers to bowl to. Trouble was they couldn't get out a certain left handed opener!
