2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup - West Indies

Why is batting at the U19 level so slow?

The West Indian pitches they are being played on, are traditionally slow. Also, the skills of these players arent comparable to the skills of their international counterparts. Furthermore, I've seen these teams tend to play more conservatively whenever they reach the knock-out stages.

You say this as Jacob Bethell casually makes 88(42)
Dewald Brevis has easily been the best player for me, he was batting on different level. Disappointing display by the other South African batsmen tho, instead of staying in and giving strike to Brevis all of them went for the big shot. You'd hope to see better at a world cup, even if it's a u19 one.

This Dewald Brevis guy is gonna be a big player for sure.

They call him AB Baby and rightly so because he bats exactly like the man.

Expecting Some IPL franchise going for him if he is in the Auctions.

Afghanistan in the semis, future is great hopefully.

No this isn't Dewald Brevis! I've watched AB de Villiers play and he played exactly like the one who is playing in this clip. Same trigger movements, same footwork and same follow through plus his approach. I am sure this is AB de Villiers!! :yes

@LiveLoveABD this is de Villiers right? I mean this is just unreal!

Afghanistan stun Sri Lanka. Wouldn't it be lovely to see them in the finals as well?

Just like the Bangladeshis won last time round, would be amazing if Afghanistan brings home the Cup.

He has a resemblance for sure.

Guess I'll watch some of this before the PSL.

When I see Bethell play he gives me a feeling that he is another great white ball player in the making for England. But England have plenty of them. He is surely going to represent England some day with that approach. But what they need is someone who sets the County Cricket on Fire for 3-4 seasons. They need to help develop players who can defend well in the First Class Cricket.

Again not to do away with List-A Cricket all. We've seen a lot of poor OD sides when it comes to England so it is equally important to focus on it but not become one dimensional.

When I see a player like Hameed it just feels like what a player could he have become had he been a little more focused on his career and received the right guidance.
