2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup - West Indies

Maybe the fact that they didn't receive enough guidance at right stages in their career?
They've all gone rubbish since they got picked for England.

Going back to Bethell (trying to stay on topic :P) he has played about 10 first team matches for Warwickshire - before he was 18. So, I think that improves a players understanding of the requirements to play professionally, alongside training with pros and the conditioning side of things.

The Dentury Man (that's what he's called I guess? :p) had a technique to succeed but the mindset got the better of him. Those pull strokes were the most perfect shots he played.

Joe Denly, yep. Another one who pushed his way in by runs in domestic cricket.

@Till Valhalla makes a good point about not getting too carried away. Jack Burnham top scored in 2016 and he left Durham half-way through last season, aged 25, after never really doing much.

India on top. Bangladesh 6 down!

I watched the game's ending last night! Afghan boys fought really hard, and I desperately wanted to see them win, but it was a little too much for them in the end. England was fantastic. Rehan Ahmed and an Afghan opener (forgot his name) are someones to watch out for.

Afghanistan must be really proud of themselves last night. They had no facilities, or Cricket infrastructure, being the last team to arrive in WI with no match practice and all the chaos that has been unfolding in their country. It's an insane achievement for them to have made the U-19 WC's semis

Or they might want to stay in WI for a long time.
jk don't drag me into a debate.

The Aussie bowlers have been on the money throughout today, hardly any bad balls at all. The Indians have had to work for every run.
That being said, I've enjoyed watching the Indians bat just as much. Really good standard of cricket today, great to watch.
Almost halfway through the first innings and because India bat deep and have good hitters yet to come, we might see see them start to accelerate, particularly Rasheed.
Really nicely poised

That was such good umpiring on giving it not out for the run out without going to the 3rd umpire. Nobody has scored more then 200 on this pitch this WC, I feel we are doing good.
