I don’t care about losing, but I want to see a fight and a passion for the game. If you lose and grow from it – ala England from 2015 to 2019; then that lose was worth it.
This has been happening nonstop since I have been following Pakistan – since the early 2000’s.
Inzi (the chief selector) said the doesn’t pay that much attention to the statisticians’ data. Your chief selector picks based on vibes and gut feeling!!
We wasted the preparation time by trying out Faheem Ashraf! Knowing he doesn’t have anything to prove - had a mediocre PSL and an even worse domestic season but Inzi wanted an Abdul Razzaq-esque player for some reason.
We wasted all the preparation playing the same 3 bowlers in every game (Shaheen, Rauf and Naseem), overworked them and arguably led to the injury of Naseem. And now you don’t have a replacement and have to pick Hasan – simply because he is the only one left.
Shadab has been struggling for more than a year – and you don’t even try out Abrar at ODI level but randomly bring him in to the ODI set up. You ignore the players that are playing in the Asia Cup (that you won btw)
You need a top-down change but that’s not going to happen.
