Extraordinary scenes out in the middle. Kolkata Knight Riders have finally exorcised their demons, and against who else but the Rajasthan Royals, who put them on this path to begin with. Virat Kohli is an Indian One-Day Championship winner at long last, and it's all down to his incredible knock and Mohammed Shami's all-time great bowling performance in what was effectively, a final. Mohammed Shami bagged 6 wickets for 38 runs and spearheaded one of the all-time great defenses of the championship.
Rajasthan Royals will be disappointed with this loss, but not more so than Delhi Capitals, who have had their dynasty interrupted by Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Quinton de Kock, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Akshay Karnewar, Krunal Pandya, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller - one of the greatest 50-over squads in cricket history.

Hero Mohammed Shami, watta spell. Thank you for another wonderful league @Na Maloom Afraad Irrespective of this result, I started to enjoy the leagues and it's vibes, so TBH I was not confident on defending 227, but Shami won the match and championship for us. Thank you @RUDI for allowing me to be your co manager, you deserve this win more than me. Hard luck @Aislabie but IMO with other strong sides, you managed your team really well winning last year and almost won this year.
