2nd PS3 T20 Champions Trophy- Completed

also as far as hmarka and krish are concerned i feel hmarka u cud hv waited for the field to spread after 6 overs or u cud have gone all out attckin just for krish to have some man back
i suppose a lot of ppl play like this but it also gives u opportunity to hit the ball all around
i suppose lilas started off like that only in our match but as the game progressed the field was well spread and anyways 2 fielders hv to be outside after 6 overs
i dont think any1 has complained about this b4

Ive played Thandmilk many times and he does not use those tactics.

Group B- Bangladesh (LegendBoy20) vs West Indies (RIZZYX)

Venue: Antinga and Barbados(Hosted by West Indies)

Toss: West Indies won and electected to bowl first.

Bangladesh: 181/9 (20.0 Overs)
N Ishraq 98 (54)
T Iqbal 51 (40)
K Rouch 2/17 (4.0 Overs)
C Gayle 2/19 (4.0 Overs)

West Indies: 182/0 (11.5 Overs)
K Pollard 127* (54)
R Hinds 48* (24)

MOM: K Pollard for his 127* from 54 balls
Result: West Indies won by 10 wickets
Points: WI=3 Bdsh=0

Match Report: West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first, a desicion no doubt influenced by their dismal batting performance against Kenya, but the desicion seemed like a bad one, Bangladesh lost a early wicket but there after they dominated proceedings, a 145 partnership between Iqbal and Ishraq lifted them to 147/1 with more than 7 overs to spare, they were heading towards a total over 200 which would really have put West Indies under great pressure chasing, a great second spell by Chris Gayle picking up 2 wickets and hardly giving a run away in his last 2 overs, backed up by some good death bowling by Backler kept Bangladesh to only 181/9, losing 8 wickets for 34 runs including the wicket of Ishraq who fell just 2 short of a magnificent century.

West Indies came out, and Pollard took charge, every one knows of his ability to hit the ball long and hard, and today was one of those days where he proved it, West Indies raised to 50 in just 3.2 overs, got to a 102 in their first 6 overs, and reached home in only 11.5, Pollard ending with a unbeatan 127* for only 54 balls, and backed up very well by Hinds with 48* from 24 balls.

West Indies have put their most comprehensive defeat behind them and managed to pull of their most convincing win yet, Bangladesh on the other hand are finding it difficult to make an impact on their first Championship trophy appearance, though they still have plenty of oppurtunities to do so.

Thandamilk and I had a practice game before the tourney, and if I remember correctly, he used all fielders inside the circle for the 1st 6 overs. Thanda feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

I am sorry legendzee you must have bowled exceptionally well to dismiss cheesearnie for 60 but in a T20 there is a lot of diffrence in chasing a 221 and 193. Without taking anything away from your performance since u won u can make the decision of either choosing to
1. share a point each
2. continue match from 158/2 in 14.5 overs with cheesearnie having to bowl 5.1 overs (bowl 6 overs with first 5

Aus (Thandamilk) vs Kenya (Krish)

Aus (Thandamilk) vs Kenya (Krish)
at Kokata, India

Toss: Kenya

AUS 100 all out in 15.0
Clarke 31 (21), Hussey 31 (21), Ogunde 2/4, Verenya 3/43

Lost to

Kenya 103/4 in 12.3
Onyegi 48 (30), Tikolo 42 (33)

-----------

Kenya continued their giant killing ways in the tourney, accounting for Australia in their first tourney match. In the hands of new coach, mentor, guide and philosopher Krish, call the Kenyans minnows at your own risk.

Kenya won the toss and put the Aussies into bat. In the blink of an eyelid, the Aussies were 4 down for 8 and there was just no recovering from that. Hussey and Clarke provided some resistance but in the scheme of things this was just the most pathetic batting display against a side that is perfecting the art of setting tight (but not unfair) fields and then bowling to them.

The Aussies probably aimed too high, attacked too much and got out for at least 50-60 runs less than what they should have gotten had they not committed harakiri in the first 3 overs. They might not have won even with a score of 150-160, but at least they would not have embarassed themselves.

Kenya did lose a couple of early wickets in chase of 100, at one point being 20/3. However, both the Kenyans and the Aussies knew that the match had been won and lost in the Aussie innings. The Kenyans cruised along to their target not taking many risks, Aussies trying their best to limit the NRR damage this match would do to them.

Overall, a complete and thorough dismantling of a team feared in the past by an up and coming side that has all the makings of a champion. Groups A & B, watch out for a new force called Krish's Kenya.

--------------------------

A comment on field settings. Krish did have his fields up during the first 6 overs, but given the rules of the tourney I didn't think they were unfair. I lost 4 wickets in the first 3 overs, trying to find gaps in the fields. All wickets though were on account of slight mistimes going to mid on, or slogs that didn't clear the infield.

Did I feel frustrated? Yes. Cheated? Not at all. Would I prefer tourney rules that require a fielder or two outside the circle even during the first 6 overs? Yes.

LAF & Krish: Am sorry to note you guys had a disagreement on your match. Both of you are fantastic players and deserve a cracking contest with each other.

Well played Krish, I look forward to our next game, ill be in about an hour or so for a few hours.

Thanks for the report Thandamilk!

Also @LAF: I don't want any bitterness in this tournament. I am ready to offer a rematch with you and yes we can have a couple of fielders outside the circle in the 1st 6 overs if you want. Do let me know!!I dont want to earn points the way our game ended!

Also @lilas: Dude, I see psymax online almost daily and when I ask him for a tourne game he does not seem interested! You might wanna confirm with him!

Krish we dont need to replay but we can play our second match
