England kicked off their campaign in the tourney with an exciting match against traditional rivals Australia. Electing to bat, the English team lost 4 quick wickets within the powerplays, but Pietersen and Vaughn counter-attacked like there was no tomorrow.

Pietersen was especially severe on whatever the Aussies offered up - as suggested by his whirlwind 77 off 28 balls. He threatened to take the match away from Australia; and almost did. England would have been disappointed with being unable to play out their quota of 20 overs - they scored at an astonishing rate but lost too many wickets in the process.

Australia lost Watson off the second ball, and continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, never really convincing in the early part of their chase. They adopted what seemed to be strange tactics at the time - playing out Flintoff's overs and sending in the tail ahead of regular batsmen.

At 6 down, White & Hussey combined to provide the solidarity the Aussie innings needed and took them closer to the target. 2 quick wickets and the match was in the balance again - Aussies still needing 40 odd to win.

Hughes' blistering 22 not out saw the Aussies home without any more hiccups.

yeh the rules are getting on nerves, but i play with dignity and winning and loosing is a part of game, plus im not used to england team, but always fair play from my side! im sure people out there rizzy krish knows my game, i do play good at times but its all good from my side! heads up! i'd love to be part of any tournaments and yes i do play to win! congrats to legendboy20 he showed a lot of character and rizzy and thandamilk, i need to come back good with you guys arghh so let the show begin!
yeh like i hosted game against legandboy20 at cardiff, and also hosted game against rizzyx at lords, thandamilk hosted game in australia dnt remember where abouts!

Will do more clearly mate. Did mention Sydney as the venue which suggests an Aussie home game.

Lilas, mate in the next round of points table update can you correct the wickets taken column for my games? It says 10 right now for some reason.

would make the correction having a tough time with the table with so many players involved.. request all others to check their stats and nrr as well
