Good game again mate.
Match Report :SL having lost there last rain affected match against were bound to strike back.On an overcast day in Lords and a turning pitch NZ won the toss and put SL in to bat a decision which they regretted just a few moments later when SL openers specially Dilshan smacking them all around
SL had a very solid start with 50 runs opening wicket stand but somehow they lost there way in the middle overs trying to accelerate losing wickets at regul;ar interval.Dilshan scored 44 but rest all players got starts but then gave away there good start.Kiwis bowlers bowled a very good line and length after being hit all around in PP and took wickets at regular intervals and Butler took 4 wickets without giving anything away and SL were bundled out for 120 in 17 overs or so due to an unexpected collapse
Well Kiwiws were looking favourites at the start but not for long as they lost both openers in 2nd over and decided to send all bowlers ahead of regular batsman a decision that did not paid much and kiwiws were 5 doen for score of around 40 or so.They needed a good partnership and it came from Tiller and McCintyre with McCintyre scoring a brilliant and match winning 61 runs
There was another twist in tail with 3 quick wickets falling with the score at around 100 but in the end Guptill and Vettori saw them home with SL failing to defend a small total
MOM : McCintyre for 61 runs
Very good game Gougie mate its fascinating how lowscoring games can be such interesting it was anybody game until last runs were scored
very thrilling encounter it seems SL and NZ are developing a bit of rivallry with SL losing 2 close games it would be interesting to see there further encounters as for now NZ are well poised with 5 of 5 wins in the tourney
