Match Report: Kenya opened their account in the the second T20 Championship against West Indies who suffered their first loss against Australia last night. Today was a different day, a different oppenent and a different venue, but would the result be any different for West Indies?
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first on a batting paradise at Calcutta, they scored 17 from their first over but lost Hinds in the process, another flurry of wickets had them in trouble at 27/4, but they recovered to 65/4 after 6 overs. Spin was introduced and it put further deants in the Windies batting line up, the first Ogunde over got 2 wickets for Kenya. Chanderpaul failed again and fell first ball and all hopes rested on captain Chris Gayle but when he fell it was curtains for the Windies, 108 all out, with a staggering 8.2 overs stillt to go in their innings, there was no chance this would be enough.
Kenya came out with great intent and played some dazzling strokes, there were a very few near chances early on with Rauch bowling a great spell but other than that it was Kenya's show, an unbeated partnership of 76 between Ongunde and Obinka saw them home with just under half their overs to spare. Kenya showed that warm up games are worth nothing as they put 2 defeat against the Windies in pre tournament matches well and truely behind them.
If ever the same team can play two completley different quality of games, it has to be West Indies, in their 4 games of the championship they have played both exceptionally well and misrabley poor, can they turn the tables around once more to stand a chance of qualyfying to the super six stage, time will only tell. Kenya on the other hand have prenounced their arrival in this championship, they may well be underdogs but expect the unexpected from them in future matches.

Very well played Krish you caught me off guard, i need to work on my over attacking nature, not good enough being bowled out with half the overs to go, whilst i was going at 10 an over. This match is going to really hamper my net run rate though, will really need to play well from here.
