4th Test: England v Australia at Leeds

If Lee plays then I think Siddle will miss out

Its a shame he was my favourite Australian batsman during that time and do you know why he just quit half way through the series he could of quit at the end of the series would of made more sense

We need Clark in first before we even talk about adding Brett Lee.

He quit halfway through because he is a prick and no one likes him. :p

Nah, seriously, he did it because he was feeling under the pump after the first two Ashes test and thought his spot was in jeopardy (which it wasn't), so he jumped overboard so to speak and just left the team. Pretty gutless, didn't even tell his captain or anything. Just left a message to Cricket Australia saying hes quit.

Lost a lot of respect for doing that.

Oh well guess he fell out of love for the game.

Agreed Clark needs to play but I cant see it happening I think Ponting would rather take Lee than Clark. I don't see them dropping Hauritz for 4 bowlers unless its a seamer's paradise

Lee is 100% fit,so thats a good news for Aus,it will be really interesting to see him bowl, lets see if he can get once again the late swing which he got in the warm up match before the start of Ashes...

Yeah, and he fell out of love with the whole of Australia. Everyone here hates him for doing that now.

I know, Ponting has had some lifelong fantasy about Brett Lee and just loves throwing the ball to him. But Stuey Clark is waiting there, has been ready to go for the first 3 tests and you know what expect from him... Nagging line and length, some good cutters and a shedload of wickets. Hauritz isn't attacking enough, I hate watching him bowl.

Aus would be hoping and is also depending on Lee to get quick wickets...He is a good bowler, if he gets his rhythm back he can destroy any batting line up....

Shane Watson, who will open in the fourth Test and provide some back-up overs, has his doubts over Lee. "Coming back from a side injury, or any injury in general, you normally need at least one game under your belt to have a big crack in a game before a Test match or a real big game," Watson said. "I know from my experience that you're not absolutely fully confident you are able to get through it until you do get through a big game. I think at the moment that there's probably less chance of him being picked because of that reason."

If anyone knows about injuries it is Watson. And can't argue with his logic as that's what I believe too.

He just wants to keep his spot. LOL.

What he said.

Siddle to be dropped for Lee, I wish we could drop Watson but we need him tbh, we cant just drop him after 2 half-centuries. I want Hughesy back though.

I agree.

My bowling attack would be:

Lee-Our quickest bowler, in my view has to be a certainty, fantastic player, great to watch, and a MUST for Australia :)
Hauritz-Not too bad, although id rather see 4 quick bowlers, but hey hes had a good series
Clark- We need Stewy in our next test, he has everything going for him atm
Hilfenhaus-Been in great form this series, a certainty to make the side :clap

If Lee's fit, he has to play. The way he bowled in the Lions game was exceptional, and Siddle's been very inconsistent, so drop him. If I was Australia I'd stick with the rest of the attack. Clark may be ready and waiting, but I'm not 100% convinced he'd do much more than Hilfenhaus, Johnson, Lee or Hauritz, the reports are he's lost his nip as well, which could be a problem at the highest level.

I heard that Martyn wanted to quit after that game winning century in South Africa in 2006 after he was recalled, but that it was the other guys (Gilly, Hayden, Shane etc) who wanted him to stay on and play through the Ashes.
