Mapping is not the issue. You will not have the same range of shots or power control as compared to what the gamepad offers.

What if the keyboard is really new, will it work? I can understand old ones, but what if it is really really new?

I can play Doom 3 and Fifa 2008 on my new keyboard so i don't see that it will not work.

some people can't afford that PLUS a game is there any way around this that you know of???

playing shots and bowling both require analogue sticks(pressure sesitive) which can't be done on keyboard.
