Story A Journey Down Under - First Innings Posted

Liking the looks of this story more and more. Jono as a coach needs to pull his socks up though.

Not a good effort by your batsmen there.
You middle order just didn't turn up to play.
It was only that last wicket partnership than managed to gain you any respectability.
You never know, it could be Geeves' and Hilferhaus' day with the ball as well.
KUTGW.

Not a good score by Tasmania. The bowlers will have to bowl out of their skins if they have to win this one. Great presentation and writing Jono.

Really they have started poorly with the opening wicket. and then it comes to middle order, and they failed either. but great bowling by Cutting, best spell he had bowled. unluckily that Geeves didn't get the partner to go on.

And your writing is just simple and amazing

Tassie not good enogh, Cutting cut through their batting.
BTW, the presentation is great.

Geeves playing a patient 49 was the highlight of the day.:)

Queensland v Tasmania, Ford Ranger Cup, The Gabba

Remarkable Performance from Geeves takes Tasmania to an Amazing Win
October 30, 2010

Tasmania 177/9 (Geeves 49, Cutting 3-29) beat Queensland 88 all out (Geeves 5-16)

Brett Geeves bowled Tasmania to an amazing victory over Queensland at the Gabba today, serving up his highest one-day score as well as bowling his way to his best one day figures of 5-16. After falling to 177/9 in their innings, Tasmania looked like they were sure to lose this match. Geeves had other ideas, running through the Queensland lineup as Tasmania walked away with maximum points. Their new coach must be extremely proud of the improvement in their bowling from the previous match, and his first victory on the job was an incredibly impressive one.

Queensland were on the back foot from the get go as Ryan Broad succumbed to Hilfenhaus in his first over. Geeves then took the wicket of Glen Batticciotto in his first over to have both openers back in the shed within 8 balls. It didn?t get much better from there as Geeves bowled Lee Carseldine to leave the score at 2/3. What had looked like an easy chase on the outset, now looked like a daunting total, mocking the Queensland batsman for being so pathetic that they couldn?t even chase 178. A slight recovery occurred at this point as Hartley and Reardon survived until the tenth over before Reardon was caught behind off Geeves, having played and missed the previous ball.

The bowling powerplay was taken at this point, with Queensland 25/4 after only ten overs. Keeping wickets intact was the key here, but Hartley was out caught at first slip off Geeves in the second over of the powerplay. Queensland were 32/5 and Tasmania were scenting an upset was on the table. Robert Atkins and Andy Popplewell were at the crease; two players fighting for a spot in the playing XI. If there were any time to state their credentials, this was it. The pair managed to put on the highest partnership of the match, but Popplewell fell to the pace of Gerard Denton, with the partnership on 27. It was a good breakthrough for Denton who hadn?t been bowling well previously in his spell.

Atkins was the only batsman left at this point and had the job of rotating the strike with the tail to try and bat for as long as possible. Luke Feldman however didn?t hear the instructions it would seem as he hit Xavier Doherty for a four and a six in his first over. Perhaps Feldman should have been trying to keep the strike instead of Atkins as he was bowled by Butterworth in the following over. Now only the tail was left and it was a matter of time before the game was over. Tasmania would have been looking to bowl Queensland out for 88 or less in order to get the extra point for having twice their run rate. Hilfenhaus was brought back on and striked first ball, with Feldman out LBW. Swan was out shortly after, and with one wicket left, Geeves was brought back on to try and get his second ever one day five for. He didn?t have to wait long, trapping Ryan Harris LBW. A spectacular victory for Tasmania, and one that is likely to be talked about for years to come.

What a bowling effort by you guys there. :hpraise
Geeves just ripped through their top order, and it was only their 6,7 and 8 who managed to add some kind of runs to their total.
As usual great writing, KIU.

Oh! what a display from Geeves, he was special with the bat and as well as the bowl. Ben have contributed a bit. Great win there for the Tigers. I think there have deserved the bonus points.

And as CG123 said, "As usual great writing." Good luck in further upgrades. :)

tbh I couldn't believe what was happening when I was playing the game :p I played it with a smile on my face the whole time haha

I'm wondering how to present future updates. All my updates have been news articles which are what I'm best at. It'll probably be good to stick to what I'm good at, but then the layout will get quite repetitive I think. So if anyone has any suggestions as to the format I could continue with, and provides hints as to how to make that format look good, I'd be open to them and will consider doing some updates in that way.

With my old ICC story I only really did update like yours at first, but as you said above it got pretty repetitive.
I started to include a photo section, with screenshots from the game, this was pretty time consuming, hence why I never really continued with the story.

Like these were some of my earlier updates, pretty similar to yours now.
Here and here.

When I brought it back I started doing stuff like this and this.

Your writing is currently great, so you should keep doing that.
Maybe if you have time just try to do add some graphical elements to it.

Yea I was thinking of attempting to make some gif files, which is why I was asking JC about them in his story. Making photo montages like that though isn't too great on a game like ICC where the in game graphics aren't very impressive.

Yeah, I know what mean.
I suppose it's more how you use them, like the cricket04 graphics are pretty rubbish, but JC turns them into great stuff.
