A Leftie's draft

And just a friendly pointer, check the first post for the draft order, a list of who's been picked and a list of who is not eligible to be called a leftie under the guidelines I made.

Really torn between who to pick...

Brian Lara

More runs and more tons than any other left hander in the game and with an average of 52 I think Lara is one of the best left handers ever to play the game.

Also, VM or PM the person who is after you once you've made your pick. It helps move things along a little faster.

I get last pick huh? Least I get 2 picks a row. Sweetness.

Lara is a nice pick. Didn't think of him for some reason.

I think we all know who send2yaari is going to pick next...

Lara = awesome player. Capable of anything that man. It's a shame that with every run Sachin makes his achievements are lessened :(

Crossing my fingers that my man will be available at pick #5 :)

I think we all know who send2yaari is going to pick next...

Well it can't be Aamer, he ain't played 10 Tests :D

Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow morning I can make my pick. Hope my first choice isn't taken. :(

I'll pick Clive Lloyd. Greate batsman is simple what I can say.

Wasim Akram is already regarded as one of the best fast bowlers to have graced the game, but he is without doubt, the best left arm fast bowler in history. He mesmerized and terrorized opponents around with his unmatched control of swing and seam. He also mastered the art of reverse swing. In his Test career, Akram took 414 wickets in 104 matches, a Pakistani record, at an average of 23.62. He took 20 four-fors, 25 five-fors and took 10 wickets in a match 5 times. He did this with a quite amazing strike rate of 54.6. Akram was the first bowler in international cricket to take more than 400 wickets in both forms of the game and only Muttiah Muralitharan has since achieved this. Akram took four hat-tricks in international cricket, two each in Tests matches and One Day Internationals. He is the only bowler in cricket to have achieved four hat-tricks. He is also one of only three bowlers to have taken two Test cricket hat-tricks. kram is also one of only two bowlers to have taken both a Test match and One Day International hat-trick. Playing in a Test series against the West Indies at Lahore in 1990-1991, he became one of only six players to have taken four wickets in an over during a Test match. He also has the third highest number of Man of the Match awards in Test cricket, with seventeen, showing that when he did well, so did Pakistan.

He was also a pretty capable batsman. He scored 2,898 runs, at an average of 22.64. With a highest of 257*, 3 centuries and 7 fifties in 147 innings, Akram was no mug with the bat. Akram achieved the highest score by a number eight batsman in Test cricket when he scored 257*. The innings contained 12 sixes which is also a world record for Test cricket.
