Mondays trip to the Nets.

Monday is the day on which the Training Updates occur on BT. It's when you get the see the fruit of all the net sessions you have invested in your players along with their hard work. If you are lucky, they may improve -or as it is know in Battrick jargon, 'pop'- in a skill.

Here are this week's trainees:
Mohaideen Abdeen (1 wicketkeeping net, 1 fitness net, 1 fielding net, 1 batting net): No pops, (BTR) increase.
Xavier Eli (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): No pops, BTR increase.
Wavell Folkes (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): Stamina pop, BTR increase

Nice pop on Folkes. In 6 weeks, i can dump the Fitness for a Fielding net, so he should get some secondary increases then. Abdeen hasn't popped in 3 weeks I think, so a bit worrying.

To which club Andrew has been sold? Also a crushing defeat for TT lions in last game! :(

Tuesday's Top Player Interview
With Chris Gamble

CG: Welcome to everyone's favourite, Tuesday's Top Player interview, with me, your host, Chris Gamble! Today, we have young spin bowling prodigy Xavier Eli, who has already impressed with 2/20 against the Port Royal Pirates and 0/46 against the Golden Eagles. So, Xavier, how you feeling?
XE:Ah, a little bloated, just had lunch, but apart from that, good :)
CG: Hehe :) So, you have had a great start to your career, what are your aims for this season?
XE: Well, I just want to bowl well. Bowling is more my main concern than anything else, but if I can score some runs in the process and hold some catches, that would be good too.
CG: That's good to hear. So, how much have you learned from playing alongside Bill Tuckett and Keith Andrews?
XE: Well, it has been a great learning experience. Keith was very experienced, taught me a lot of good tactics and plans, and it was dissapointing to see him leave. But watching Bill bowl is just fantastic. He can bowl a googly, legbreak and a flipper pretty much exactly where he wants to and it, and watching his tactics and lines and lengths when bowling is just amazing.
CG: Hopefully one day a young spinner will be saying the same abotu you :) How is it at the TT Lions anyways?
XE: Ah, it's great. Great atmosphere, lots of fun, lots of cooky things going on. It's just great fun, win or lose. :)
CG:Thats great :) Now, how did you get into cricket in the first place?
XE: Well, I always loved the game. My dad was a great fan, got me interested, and my borthers used to play alot. I visited the Lions Academy everyday, and bowled there, and eventually I was in reckoning for the Youth team. And I just tried my best, and now I am here :)
CG:Ah, great :) Excellent stuff. Is it true you used to keep wicket?
XE: Haha, yea, I used to. :) I used to want to bat, bowl and keep wicket :) But when I was selected for the Youth team, I was told to focus on one thing, and I chose bowling. :)
CG: Ah. Now before we leave, one questiuon. What is your favourite Pizza topping?
XE: Umm...I'll say mushrooms :)
CG: Thanks :) There you have it, Xavier Eli, a fun loving, mushroom eating guy! And he is our this week's Tuesday's Top Player! :)

Match Preview
One Day League
TT Lions vs. Corktown Wayfarers
The Lion Stands
Friday 02/02/2007, 15:30 GMT

This should be yet another easy win. The Wayfarers have been around for 3 seasons, and do have a few talented players in Stephen Weir, Keith Jaco and Christian Lea. However, a lack of young blood and an over reliance of veternan players harms the team's chances of performing well this season. Add to that the fact that their manager has just recently retired, and they don't stand a chance. They are the better of the lower 4 sides, and do have a good chance of avoiding relegation. But in order to reach their potential, they will have to find some young talents, and most importantly, a manager.
At last look, the ratings for each side were:
Code:
		[B]TT Lions	Corktown Wayfarers[/B]

[B]Top Order:[/B]	mediocre feeble
[B]Middle Order:[/B]	respectable woeful
[B]Lower Order:[/B]	abysmal abysmal
[B]Seam Bowling:[/B]	superb medicore
[B]Spin Bowling:[/B]	strong woeful
[B]Fielding:[/B] feeble woeful
The pitch is likely to remain a standard Lion Stands pitch, with grass and a bit of moisture. The lineup is also expect to be the same, although there could be a few suprise inclusions if Zorax decides to give his subs a go. Even then, this match is heavily favoured towards the Lions.

Playing XI (Expected): Whing, Abdeen (+), Rudi, Gallagher, Crouch, Finlayson, Shipp, Spearitt, Eli, Tuckett (*), Folkes.
