Saturday's Suprising Fact!

Today's we reveal a odd fact on the Lion's rising youngster Wavell Folkes. Wave here, as you all know, is a big NBA fan. But that doesn't mean he doesn't play. Infact, he is quite a fantastic little BBaller. Once, in a school match, he slammed in 15 3-pointers in a row! in just 5 minutes! That's three 3-pointers in a minute! Unfortunately, a wrist injury on his left hand kept him out of basketball for a season, when he decided to try his hand at cricket. Thank goodness for that!

Woah! Well, Join us next week for yet another unbelievable Suprising Fact!

Time for the clash of the titans. On one end, the TT Lions. The highly spirited, talented squad who never say die. Why their batting may be a concern, their bowling attack is one to die for. The Lions have seemed untouchable this season, winning game after game from positions where anyteam would have given up with their never die attitude and appetite for victory. Luck has been on their side, and with a large fanbase, several matchwinners and bucket loads of confidence, they have built a reputation of one of the top teams on Planetcricket.
But the Cricket Geniuses seem quite the opposite. Started around the same time as the Lions, they have built thier team around star batsman Darren Aldaryce, allrounder Hoult and seamer Karl Baker. However, they have had a terrible season so far. Currently fifth in a highly competitive league, they have had absolutely no luck this season and have even managed to throw away a few winning opportunities. The players are low on confidence, and things aren't good for the Geniuses. They are, however, a brilliant team and if they click, are unstoppable. But they'll need to gather every ounce of fighting spirit in them if they'll want to trounce the Lions.
At last look, the full strength ratings for each side looked like:
Code:
		[B]TT Lions	Cricket Geniuses [/B]

[B]Top Order:[/B]	competent respectable
[B]Middle Order:[/B]	respectable proficient
[B]Lower Order:[/B]	abysmal abysmal
[B]Seam Bowling:[/B]	superb proficient
[B]Spin Bowling:[/B]	strong competent
[B]Fielding:[/B] feeble feeble
Quite similar. What the Lions lack in batting, they make up for in bowling. However, ratings aren't to be trusted, as anything could happed. Darren Allardyce will be the man to watch out for the Lions. Get him early, and the Geniuses will struggle. But let him settle, and you'd better pray that he runs out of partners. Allardyce is one of the finest batsmen in the country, and he could be key to victory for the Geniuses. But apart from him, they do boast other fantastic players in Derek Hoult, Karl Baker, Josh Humer, Curtis Blakeman and Evans Mcdonald. By no stretch of the mind are they a one man team. However, they have been marred by poor run of form and low confidence.
The pitch is expected to be flat, an absolute road. No help for the bowlers, so it will be time for the Lions batsmen to step up to the plate. But will they be able to? The Lions will be going in full strength, with Eli and Abdeen expected to play. But where Abdeen will bat will be an issue. He hasn't done well of late at the number 3 spot, but a flat pitch such as this could be what he needs.
In conclusion, expect this match to be a cracker. The Geniuses stand favourites due to their superior batting and good bowling, not to mention the home advantage, but the Lions have made in a habit to pull of upsets, don't be suprised if they do it again.

Playing XI (Expected): Cutler, Giddings, Abdeen (+), Rudi, Crouch, Gallagher, Whing, Finlayson, Eli, Tuckett (*), Folkes.

That was a good suprise fact but still the pet animal fact is my favourite :p

And regarding tmrw's match, Lions bowlers had to do a major role.. Its going to be interesting contest..Looking forward for another magical win from Lions :) Gud Luck!

Mondays trip to the Nets.

Monday is the day on which the Training Updates occur on BT. It's when you get the see the fruit of all the net sessions you have invested in your players along with their hard work. If you are lucky, they may improve -or as it is know in Battrick jargon, 'pop'- in a skill.

Here are this week's trainees:
Mohaideen Abdeen (1 wicketkeeping net, 1 fitness net, 2 batting net): No pops, (BTR) increase.
Xavier Eli (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): No pops, BTR increase.
Wavell Folkes (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): Stamina pop, BTR increase

Great pop for Folkes. He will now stop recieving stamina training as he is as fit as he can possibly be, and will now train a bit in fielding...
