Yes, it was another bowler's game for TTLions... India needs really a team like this to pull victories in magical way!

I hope you get more and more wins like this in Division 1 filled with tough teams.. Gud Luck for that too in advance! And also congrads for SOTM.. I was searching this thread for a while & then only realised that it was at the top :p

Yea, I guess it was because Eli and Abdeen were both exhausted going into this game. I should have rest them

Tuesday's Top Player Interview
With Chris Gamble

CG: Hello, and welcome to Tuesday's Top Player Interview! Today, we have none other than the man himself, Ryan Crouch, Or that is, we had Ryan Crouch. Unfortunately, he couldn't make it, so at the last minute we've got Mr. Wisdom himself, Shaka Nelson! So, Shaka, how are you?
SN:I'm good, I'm good. Have been having a lot of free time with no home games :)
CG: Haha. Speaking of which, what do you do in your spare time?
SN: I do puzzles, math sums, quizzes, just to keep my mind alert. I also spend time with my grandkids, and kind follow sports all over the world, talk with my friends.
CG: That's great, one has to keep them selves active at thier old age ay??
SN: I'm not that old!! :p
CG: Haha. So, tell us, how did you become a groundsman??
SN: Well, I've always been an avid fan of cricket. I was never that great while playing, did manage a few FC games and a couple of One-dayers too but never was that good. But I knew that I would like a career in cricket. As I studied to be a groundsman I had brief stints as a journalist and an umpire to meet ends. But once I got my degree, I got a nice high paying job here, and have never looked back since :)
CG: Nice :) All this, must give you a good in-depth knowledge of cricket right?
SN: Well, it helps. Zorax does ask me for my opinion time and time again, and the players as me for help at times too, so I like to think that I am more than just a groundsman to the team. But one ends up learning so much from being a groundsman, from working with a team such as the TT Lions. They're all a bunch of fantastic kids, and I guess I learn something new every day :)
CG:Brilliant. Well, thank you Shaka, it's been a pleasure to talk to you. But before we leave, we have a question from the fans we meant to ask Ryan Crouch, but we hope you don't mind answering it. What tip would you give and aspiring allrounder?
SN: Uh, well, just try your best. You will only be as good as your talent allows you, so just bat and bowl with your natural game, make a few adjustments as long as it doesn't mean completely changing your technique, and as long as you try your best you have nothing to be ashamed of, even if you never end up being successful.
CG: Excellent, hope some youngsters take those words to heart.
Well, there you have it folks. Not exactly Ryan Crouch, but a brilliant man nonetheless, Shaka Nelson is our this week's
Tuesday's Top Player! :)

Atlast its good to hear that Crouch is ready to speak to media though Shaka made it in the end this week :) It was a great interview especially the last tip which Shaka gave :clap Hopefully Crouch can make it next week i guess ;)

The Lions have a couple of players for sale. Namely, Dev Newby, Rich Butcher and Carlton Drayton. Check the first post for more info.

Wednesday's Words of Wisdom
From Shaka Nelson

Hello, welcome to Wednesday's Words of Wisdom, where we give you, the readers, a piece of advice on Battrick every week, delivered by the TT Lion's experienced groudsman, Shaka Nelson. Today's piece of Advice is:

"One thing people tend to forget is the cricket is just a game. Whenever you play, have fun with it. It shouldn't be a chore, but a way to pass time and have fun. Never play if you don't feel you are going to enjoy yourself, that just destroys the point of playing cricket in the first place."

Thank you and join us next week for another Wednesday's Words of Wisdom!

Nice words of wisdom there Zorax :)

Thursday's Tour through History

This is the segment where we visit the historical places and moments in TT Lion's history. Today we continue or special on the TT Lions' classic matches...

TT Lions Classics
Part 6

TT Lions vs. Zanarkand Abes
Played at The Lion Stands
16/04/2006

Zanarkand Abes: 244/9, 50 overs [Derbyshire 49*, James 41, Andrews 4/25, Rudi 3/35]
TT Lions: 246/7, 47.4 overs [Crouch 76*, Cox 62*, Pierce 3/21, Mccloud 2/35]

A run of the mill friendly for the TT Lions against the famous Zarakand Abes. Famous for their star player Lawrence Mccloud, who has the highest wage in all of Battrick for a non-NT player.
Anyways, on a cloudy day on a green pitch, the Abes elected to bat first. Drayton, Atkinson and even Crouch got a bit of stick, but Andrews and the youn Rudi bowled brilliantly to restrict them to 244. No batsman starring in an allround batting perfromance.
With a somewhat daunting total, the Lions stunned all by going in with a reversed batting order to face off Mccloud. As against the Geniuses, it flopped, with the Lions stumbling to 14/5 in under 10 overs. Rudi one of the players to be dismissed early.
Conelly and Dunn faced of the threat of Mccloud and Pierce, but both fell to the change bowlers to leave the Lions gasping for air at 105/7. With the required rate soaring, in walks in Ryan Crouch with Nyron Cox. After a steady start, the Lions imploded, and by whacking an unbelievable 60 runs in the last 7.4 overs. the Lions stormed hom by 3 wickets. The bowlers could only look on in disbelief as victory was snatched away from them by two brilliant innings by the two stars of the Lions.
MOTM went to Ryan Crouch for him magnificent match winning innings to pull off a stunning upset.
