Sunday's Youth

No ITS, 17 year old, hope for something decent to sell. No real need of a good player, and no ITS for one anyways. So, here is what I get...
Jesse Quett (1146834)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, changeable
An attacking player with abysmal leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: TT Lions
Nationality: West Indies
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 3,078
Wages: ?341 p/w
The Coach's thoughts on JQ here:
Well, 'ee is a god fielder, very agile, but can't bat too well or bowl well either. Would make a good dancer or gymnast.
My thoughts:
What the coach said. Nice fielder, he is also quite consistent. Up for sale if a newbie will take him off my hands. But if not, I'm afraid he'll have to find another profession. I'll reccomend him to the local dance studio...

Join us next week to see what the Academy can produce!

Oh i missed the fan's quiz this time :( It wud be unfair to enter now after watching ur match... ;) So will participate next time!

Anyways tough day so far Zorax.. Hope you make a pull from nowhere again! :)

Yea, I actually think he got lost and stumbled into the wrong building :)

Mondays trip to the Nets.

Monday is the day on which the Training Updates occur on BT. It's when you get the see the fruit of all the net sessions you have invested in your players along with their hard work. If you are lucky, they may improve -or as it is know in Battrick jargon, 'pop'- in a skill.

Here are this week's trainees:
Mohaideen Abdeen (1 wicketkeeping net, 1 fitness net, 2 batting net): Batting pop, (BTR) increase.
Xavier Eli (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): Bowling, BTR increase.
Wavell Folkes (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): No pops, BTR increase

Finally the batting pop for Abdeen! And an unexpected bowling pop for Eli too, so a great week overall! :)

The Lions sneak home in yet another thriller in what was an exact replica of Sunday's match, with a fine knock by Lennox Rudi and some absolutely brilliant bowling from Wavell Folkes guiding the team home in a shock victory.
After winning the toss, Tuckett elected to bat on a very up-and-down pitch. Cutler fell early, followed by Abdeen on a duck. Giddings got off to a flier, but didn't last long, and the Lions were 34/3. That became 48/4 as the dangerous Ryan Crouch was trapped LBW, and the Lions were in serious trouble. Rudi and Gally batted fantastically, but a terrible mixup ended a fantastic partnership. Whing hung around, but fell just before the slog overs. Finlayson didn't last long, and neither did the tail. Rudi tried his best, but all the Lions could muster up was 178.
In reply, the Umer's XI lost an early wicket Noble, Rudi following up his 71* with a wicket in his first over. But Burke and Jefferry batted on and on, taking the game out of the Lions' hands. Or so they though. Crouch struck, and Everett played very well before falling to Tuckett to leave the score 144/4. But from their on they collapsed, Folkes bowling a fiery spell to take 5/10 in 3.4 overs! A testement to how well he bowled was that 4 of his 5 victims were clean bowled, 3 were yorked. Out of nowhere the Lions had snatched victory.
Overall, so crap batting and crap bowling overall was covered up by some fantastic bowling by Folkes and Crouch to help the Lions sneak home. Not that it wasn't a good win. It's just that, we are used to it now.

Ratings:

Great ratings, with yet another very good opponent. However, I'll need to tweak my tactics a bit. Folkes the obvious MOTM reciever.

Attendance:

Not bad, a bit of cash. Useful.

Stay tuned as The Lions head over to the Armadillos CG!
