It's Saturday. Yup, you guessed it...

Saturday's Suprising Fact!

Today's fact is regarding TT Lion's batsman Kieran Mcintyre. What very few people realise is that he loves animals. Yup. So much, that he has 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds, 6 mice, 2 snakes and a pig! You heard me right! But don't worry, he can afford all these animals by running a little 'mini-zoo' in his backyard and charging kids to see his pets! :)

Join us next week for another juicy Suprising Fact!

West Indies Cup Match
TT Lions vs. Pitons CC
Pitons CG
Sunday 13/01/2007, 15:30 GMT

First game af the season for both teams, both managers will be looking to kick off the season with a bang. However, Pitons CC is a managerless team, which means all the players are crap (Bar a few), have crap form, and have crap tactics. 'Bot' teams, as they are called, are designed to lose, so don't expect any suprises here.
Since there will only be one manager in this game, he will be looking to try out all his options. This match would be ideal for the Lion's new youth Mohaibeen Abdeen to make his debut, although it is unlikely due to the fact that he has just arrived in the country a day or so ago. But Andy Finlayson is expected to play his first game on West Indian soil and would wish to do well. The pitch is expected to be slow with a bit of grass covering, just like the Lion Stands.
At last look, the ratings were as follows. As you can see, the Pitons CC isn't expected to be any match for the TT Lions fantastic bowling attack:
Code:
		[B]Pitons CC	TT Lions[/B]

[B]Top Order:[/B]	feeble competent
[B]Middle Order:[/B]	woeful mediocre
[B]Lower Order:[/B]	abysmal abysmal
[B]Seam Bowling:[/B]	abysmal proficient
[B]Spin Bowling:[/B]	worthless	proficient
[B]Fielding:[/B] woeful feeble
Despite the helpful pitch and unbelievably skewed ratings, don't expect the Lions to field and understrength side. The manager would be looking to see who performs and who doesn't and will be trying to find the best XI, and all the players will be looking to perform well. The first XI is a bit of a mystery, but don't be suprised if it is identical to the one that played the Challenger's XI. Arthur Dennis, Billy Shipp and Leeroy Spearitt will all be fighting for the two remaining batting slots for when Abdeen is ready to play in the first XI, so that should be interesting. However, pretty much rest of the side seems settled, and would just be taking this opportunity to get some match practice in and won't be taking this game all too seriously. Nevertheless, expect this game to be as one sided as an ODI between England and Bangladesh.
For those who didn't get it, we are Bangladesh. ;)

Playing XI (Expected): Whing, Spearitt, Rudi, Gallagher, Crouch, Finlayson (+), Shipp, Dennis, Andrews, Tuckett (*), Folkes.

Ok, time for...

Sunday's Youth

So, after being somewhat dissapointed last week, I headed down today hoping for a good 'un. Preferrably a spinner, so that I could replace Keith Andrews in my lineup, seeing he is currently the weakest of my 5 frontline bowlers. Today was crucial, as if I couldn't get a good trainee, I would need to buy one ASAP before tommorrows training updates. Also a good bowler trainee from my academy would mean I could use the cash to buy a good batsman to bolster my batting lineup. So it was all down today. Same instructions to the coach as last week, and I told him this guy better be good...
Xavier Eli (1063692)
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, changeable
A destructive player with superb leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: TT Lions
Nationality: West Indies
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 6,148
Wages: ?1,156 p/w
The Coach's thoughts on Xavier here:
Ahh, now 'ee's a gem! Bowls excellent left arm spin 'ee does, is fit enough and keeps a nice line, but 'ees immensly talented. Hang onto 'im, 'ees a real gem.
My thoughts:
Fantastic, just what the squad needed! SLA bowler, just like Andrews, so will slot in perfectly into the team. He is a matchwinner by nature, so that's excellent to have. Also, not to forget, he is an excellent bowler! Definately a keeper, Carlton Coeries will have to find a new team sadly.

Join us next week to see what the Academy can produce!
