I saved my game and closed Cricket 2005, and now when i have gone back into it, i loaded up the profile, but my created player had gone and the saved game no where to be seen.

Is this a bug or have i done something wrong!?!?!?!

Did you save the profil??? Thats the only thing i can think off mate.

I'd say a bug...maybe your fault...but most likely a bug...hehehe...
Do you Autoplay a while, then bowl on your turn/bat when you come in? Or do you play the whole thing?

Well i started early this morning when the game came, had a quick bowling session in the nets and then i was straight into it, probably took about 3/4 hours +, lost count after a while lol. About to start the reply now.

I was thinking of doing that, like only bowl when Briggs was gonna bowl, but then i had second thoughts, i might do it for future games though, so then it really is just concentrated on one player, what do you think?

Ok guys after much time contemplating, i have decided to only play as Shaun Briggs, and autoplay the rest of what happens. I think this is the best way as it makes it more realistic and will now be fully concentrated on how well he does for the team rather than me playing as everybody.

Ill post the Yorkshire 1st innings here in a short while!

Yorkshire Crumble Under Pressure!!
From Chelmsford

Yorkshire crumbled in their 1st innings reply against Essex replying to Essex' 378, with 204, most of which was contributed by the England captain Michael Vaughan. Together with Vaughan, Anthony McGrath helped to give the Yorkshire score some respectability and also a brave effort down the order from Shaun Briggs on his debut helped Yorkshire to get past 200.

From Briggs' View
Shaun Briggs came to the crease with the score on 150 for 3. Michael Vaughan had just departed and the pressure was immediately put on Briggs by Danish Kaneria, who surrounded him with close catchers and bowled some testing deliveries to the youngster.

First ball in County Cricket for Shaun Briggs

Briggs took a while to get settled and had to be content seeing off Kaneria for 2 overs of blocking and leaving before finally getting off the mark after 22 deliveries.

Briggs picking up some advice from Anthony McGrath

Briggs survived some tough calls, especially from Ronnie Irani, a vicious in swinger just hit Briggs outside of off stump but never the less, Briggs probably had his heart in his mouth right until the umpire gave him the all clear!

Briggs just manages to get outside the line

However when it did come, it took a special delivery from Andre Adams to get rid of Briggs. A ball which Briggs failed to pick up hit him straight in line with the stumps and that was it for Briggs' first innings in a Yorkshire shirt. The delight was there to be seen on the Essex players faces as Briggs had just started to get into his stride and hit a few boundaries, and after he departed, the innings fell apart for Yorkshire.

great start to your story, certainly a new way of doing a story, but it seems a great idea. Keep it up, good luck Briggsy

Essex Second Innings From Shaun Briggs View

An amazing second innings for the debutant youngster as he claimed his first county cricket wickets! Essex crumbled just like Yorkshire did in there first innings and lost too many early wickets to post a good total in the second innings and were forced to declair on a fairly low score due to the amount of wickets lost. Andy Flower stuck around yet again but not without picking up a few bruises along the way!!

Shaun Briggs 10-0-36-2
First Spell
1st Over: Quiet opener from Briggs but he does force Grant Flower into playing a shot at a wide one which he misses
2nd Over: WICKET! Ravinder Bopara is Briggs' first victim in county cricket as he clips one straight to Matthew Hoggard much to the delight of Briggs!
3rd Over: WICKET! Dream land for Briggs as he picks up his second wicket in sucessive overs! Ronnie Irani the victim this time as Briggs takes the pace of a bouncer which Irani mis times and hooks straight into the air where Harvey takes a simple catch!
4th Over: Andy Flower is hit on the helmet and crashes to the floor! Pumped up Briggs now
5th Over: James Foster is hit on the glove but the ball lands safe
6th Over: Top edge from Foster flies over the wicket keeper and goes for 4
7th Over: Flower strokes Briggs doewn the ground for 4, high quality shot!
8th Over: Eventful over! Flower plays and misses 3 times, edges through slip for 4 and then pulls a short one from Briggs for 4 more!
SPELL: 8-0-28-2

2nd Spell
1st Over: Quiet over from Briggs only 2 singles from it
2nd Over: Flower strokes Briggs away for 4

Thanks a lot mate! Im glad to see some people are enjoying the story and getting behind this idea because i dont think this has been done before where a story has just been based on one person so hopefully it will be a starting point for more people to give it a go with there created people in the game!

Thrilling Game Ends In A Draw!!
From Chelmsford

A thrilling game of cricket at Chelmsford went right down to the wire today as the game ended in a draw. Yorkshire chasing 305 to win at one stage looked as if they were going to start an onslaught and move towards the total but a fight back from Essex ensured that Yorkshire had to change there prioroties from winning to getting a draw from the game. Yorkshire finished the game on 246 for 9 with Anthony McGrath scoring 57 from 100 deliveries and Matthew Hoggard hanging in there for 11 balls.

From Briggs View
Shaun Briggs will look back on the second innings with mixed feelings. His bowling performance was outstanding to say the least, however the same cannot be said for his batting. A needless run out at a time when Yorkshire needed to build a partnership is something Briggs will need to cut out of his game. Sent in at number 4 to try and get some quick runs, Briggs started brilliantly hitting Gough straight back past him for 4 from his first ball. More runs came from the bat for Briggs as he moved on to 8 from 3, however the run out came from a brilliant piece of fielding from Andy Flower. Briggs hit the ball towards the covers and a brilliant piece of diving from Flower stopped the ball and he hurled it back towards the stumps where Foster clipped off the bails with Briggs well short of the crease after Vaughan turned him down for the run.
