AC 2009 UK Game Cover and Release Date

Ideally it should have been released a couple of weeks before ASHES ... but no other Cricket game is coming so Codies dont have any competition and people who wants to play a cricket game on next gen console dont have any choice so if they release the game in sept people will buy it !!

I just thought I'd post what I found on the codemasters Ashes 2009 forums. It's from the Codies community manager.

"I'm just stating the fact that we have not yet released an official release date, and to disregard other dates you might see around the internet until we confirm. "

That was posted yesterday.

I do get the feeling though that if they can't confirm the date this late in the day, then we might not see it until the Ashes is in full swing, or maybe even over. But that is just conjecture.

Ps - is there an introduction are I can make a post in? Ive looked but can't find it!

The reasons for not having an exact date at this stage are out of Codemasters' control. Though they should have something specific soon, they are currently having a meeting to determine when the meeting to decide when to decide to release will occur.

I have just realised that the Austrailian release will be published by Atari, and considering Atari have pulled out of releasing games in Europe then it may be the case that the game is actually finished but the codies are looking for a distributor.

Again, just conjecture ..... but it makes sense.

I have no gaming PC and this is the only game on the 360 ..... hence the desperation to get my mitts on Ashes 2009.

As I have stated about 3 times already, i work at ebgames.... The store in taigum for anyone in brissy... The system in store started saying 23/07/09... it now says 13/07/09, if you dont believe me, then go into your local eb games and ask them to check the release date, they will be more then happy to check it for you and then they will ask you if you want to pre order it... for pick up on... the 13th of july 2009 trust me

I know that store and I've been there before. I'll drop in sometime and we'll have a chat about whether or not this game will meet any of our expectations.

I haven't played a decent cricket game since Shane Warne Cricket '99. I'm darn ready for some quality after buying crap for 10 years.

Not sure how much can be read into this, but all the UK game sites have just changed their release dates to the 8th August.
