AC09 file formats

Obviously PS3 faces etc cannot be edited, but if anyone is intrested in creating an editor, it all the player info appears to be contained in a file called USER.DAT.

I have attatched it, please could someone take a look? If we could get a PS3 player editor my world would be complete haha :D

good luck guys, any more files you need I would be happy to upload.

Perhaps we could sticky a PS3 editing thread?

Modding the graphical aspects is definitely possible. I made some progress with that but will have a proper look when I buy the game.

Great!

First things on your list, besides the faces should be:

Correct stumps/pitchads

The ball (someone said it reminded them of an orange training ball and I reckon it looks like an old ball in the demo. Grab the one from BLIC 2007 for the new ball, that was perfect.)

im sure tat rosters are located in user.dat and userstat.dat files.Just load them up in a hex editor or notepad and search for player names u will find all of em.i found Kevin Petersen thrice:doh in the user.dat in the demo so i dunno which one is actually the roster one.

user.dat is the roster and I've been editing it. There is a checksum but I can still change some stuff. Have managed to set abilities to 100. Will post some screens later.

Do you think this will be able to be done for PS3? Or indeed a PS3 Player editor?

As far as I remember, Lazy Chestnut made a program for BLIC 2007 in which he was able to slow down the AI's scoring by playing around with their timing abilities - it also worked for human players. Do you guys reckon something similar is possible for Ashes 2009?

Also, does it look like it will be possible to edit sounds/graphics?

Anyway, keep up the good work. :)

Does AC09 use Mircosoft SQL Server as the database? I can see this server added up to my hard disk on the same day of my installation of the demo. I am not sure, whether it's due to AC 09 or VC++ installation.

"user.dat" is the roster. I don't know what is "USRSTAT.dat" as it seems exactly like the "USER.DAT" file. I suppose it must be for users statistics.

I found that the file "async.big.w32" has a file extension called "Cricket2008.w32.dmp" which is a dump file. I don't know if this is of any use. I just posted if it is.

One of the textures that I extracted from the demo.

I also saw that. Actually, it comes when you run the game for the first time. Probably a temp file.

Hitterman added 1 Minutes and 41 Seconds later...

Brilliant! You are genius. How you did that? Magic?
