O reilley/really.

Walcott ahead of Tendulkar/Viv Richards/Graeme Pollock/George Headley.
and Reilley over Marshall/Akram/Imran/Lilee etc.

Walcott and O'Reilly were fantastic players, no shame in selecting them. Everyone has their own tastes.

I picked:

Hobbs
Gavaskar
Bradman
Tendulkar
Lara
Sobers
Alan Knott(+)
Akram
Marshall
Warne
Murlidharan

Just checked it again and I want to change it a bit.
With that attack I would sub Sobers out for Imran Khan. Gives you a more lethal bowling attack with Akram-Marshall-Imran-Murali-Warne. And you don't really need Sobers at 6 if you've got Hobbs, Gavaskar, Bradman, Tendulkar, and Lara!

^ Especially considering 3 years ago he was tauted a better Test batsmen than Tendulkar. Opinions can change quickly. I remember it like yesterday when Dilshan was the next Sehwag, Amla the next Dravid, Gambhir trying to break Bradman's record of 6 consecutive centuries, where are they now? It is only after the player has retired that we can reflect on how good he actually was.

I don't think Dilshan and Amla have faded like you're implying. In the past 2 years (as of this post), Amla has averaged 58.15 at a SR of 49.07 and Dilshan has averaged 57.20 at a SR of 84.23.

Just picked my World XI on Cricinfo

  1. Jack Hobbs (ENGLAND)
  2. Sunil Gavaskar (INDIA)
  3. Don Bradman (AUSTRALIA)
  4. Sachin Tendulkar (INDIA)
  5. Viv Richards (WEST INDIES)
  6. Imran Khan (PAKISTAN)
  7. Adam Gilchrist (AUSTRALIA)
  8. Shane Warne (AUSTRALIA)
  9. Wasim Akram (PAKISTAN)
  10. Malcolm Marshall (WEST INDIES)
  11. Muttiah Muralitharan (SRI LANKA)

Can't believe McGrath missed out but in the end I went with the lefty in Akram and two spinners. I don't like this whole combination deal.

picked my WXI on cricinfo.

difficult to pick between Tendulkar and Miandad but eventually picked Miandad(May be a bit biased)

May be? Too much people picking national teams on cricinfo, too biased.
Anyway, wanted to go different with my pick, but cricinfo selection policy prevented it.
Jack Hobbs
Barry Richards
Don Bradman
Sachin Tendulkar
Garry Sobers
Imran Khan
Adam Gilchrist
Malcolm Marshall
Shane Warne
Glenn Mcgrath
Muttiah Muralitharan.
Not my #1 XI (listed earlier), but to me good combo,...... different.

I am talking about a much smaller time frame then 2 years.

LOLOLOLOL. Miandad over Tendulkar is the epitome of biased.

Tendulkar is arguably the best batsman since Bradman... the only others that can claim to be in that bracket is Lara, Richards, and maybe Ponting. Miandad wouldn't be in my 5th XI.

HANIF MOHAMMAD over HOBBS! WOW!!

What's with this craze of everybody picking Hobbs anyway? Sure he's played many FC matches, but...
