PS3: Arjwiz's live commentary thread

21 from 12, am going with RCB now.

Ojha out second ball. Last wicket now.

----------

9 off the over. 12 required off 6 balls. 1 wicket in hand. MI will feel they were a bit loose in their bowling, having conceded about 10-15 runs too many.

I am finding lot of similarities with my match with Issue.

Starc to bowl!

Caught behind! RCB win this thrilling encounter by 9 runs in the last over.

----------

You have to say this could have gone either way, but RCB were slightly ahead at all times, except perhaps when MI needed 43 off 33 with Anderson and Sharma batting. When Anderson got out, everything tumbled.

MI conceded way too many extras, and in the end, RCB were deserved winners.

Yes I too lost from a quite similar position in my game against @issue It's very frustrating.

Starc to bowl!

Caught behind! RCB win this thrilling encounter by 9 runs in the last over.

Rameez: Well what a game we have had, another nail biter like the DD vs SRH game. MI will feel the game was theirs for the taking, but credit goes to RCB for fighting right the way through. They now go to number 2 in the table displacing non other than MI. I tell you what though MI will really be pumped up when these two sides go face to face again.

@arjwiz please add the scorecard to the ipl thread when you can.

Delhi Diamond Cutters (arjwiz) vs Tamil Super Lions (@Solomon) Ranji Match

Harsha Bhogle: Welcome everyone to the eagerly anticipated match in the Ranji Tournament. We apologise for the production error that has resulted in us missing the first two overs of the game with Shastri and Boycott, so lets get straight down. TSL are batting after having won the toss.

Shastri: Well there was an eventful start as TSL lost their opener, Murli Vijay, run out without facing a ball. He went for a run when there wasn't any, and was run out by Ajmal.

Porterfield came in next, but the second over saw the dismissal of the talisaman, David Warner, out caught at mid on playing straight to a shorter delivery by Mohit Sharma.

We resume play at 12/2 in the third over, with Porterfield and Misbah-ul-Haq at the crease.

----------

TSL are finding the gaps now with Misbah. 18/2 after 4 overs.

----------

22/2 after 5

----------

Misbah's wagon wheel shows that almost all his 16 runs so far have come from the wide mid off region. TSL 26/2 after 6.

----------

27/2 after 7. Philander troubling Porterfield.

----------

And Mohit goes round the wicket to get the prized wicket of Misbah ul Haq, out bowled after having been peppered with short deliveries.

----------

30/3 after 8. Kaif off the mark.

----------

36/3 after 9. Looks like Philander will give way soon after his 5 wicketless overs.

----------

And that's the first boundary of the match, classic cover drive by Kaif. TSL 46/3 after 10.

----------

Shastri: That scoundrel, Jimmy Amarnath, is replacing Philander. I wish him the worst. :mad

----------

And Amarnath gets a nick first ball to Porterfield, but its given not out. DDC review it.

There was a very thick edge and deflection, but the decision stands. Did it bounce?

----------

53/3 after 11.

----------

And Kaif out LBW to a slower one, he was looking very strong.

Wait, they have reviewed that one. Let's see what happens.

It hit the batsman just above the kneeroll on the back leg. Pitched outside off, and hit just outside off! Wicket's umpire's call, but that's a great review. Kaif stays!

----------

Kaif's confidence is hit. He nicks the next one, but it falls just short.

----------

Good over from Sharma but nothing to show for it. TSL 57/3 after 12.

----------

And that's a short ball from Amarnath that just clips the top of Porterfield's leg stump. That's the big wicket of the opener. They were looking strong, these two.

----------

66/4 after 13.

----------

And yet another nick for Kaif from Sharma's quicker one, but that lands short again. Come on keeper, take a few steps ahead! Sharma is into his seventh over.

But wait, a loose shot from Kaif means he is caught at mid off for a well-played 23(23). That was a diving catch off another short ball from Sharma. Sharma now has three.

And the next call sees Ashwin meet the exact same fate off a mirror delivery. Sharma has four and is on a hattrick. Jimmy Anderson to face. TSL 67/6. And that's edged! But he sneaks a single to square leg.

Boycs: The captain had a decision to make, and he made a good one by keeping Sharma on for his seventh straight over. Sharma rewarded him with two wickets. Great bowling by him.

TSL 70/6 after 14

----------

Anderson bowled by another slower one from Amarnath. TSL having troubles with the slow deliveries.

----------

The last hope, Dinesh Karthik, is caught behind to a quicker one that swung a mile. He is reviewing, but DDC seem very confident. Amarnath picks up his third.

----------

74/8 after 15. And what's this, Sharma is continuing for his 8th straight over, looking for a fifer.

And that's nicked!! Sharma gets a deserved 5-wicket haul. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is out as the last man, Nehra, makes his way to the middle.

----------

But the last pair mean business, and they score 6 off the last 4. This moves Venkatraghavan up from the "Worst Batsman" list in this tournament.

----------

Amarnath continues and gets the last wicket. The batsman smashed that but is hauled out at deep cover. TSL 81 all out, Kaif top scoring with 23(23). Mohit Sharma picked up 5 wickets, Amarnath picked up 4, and one was a run out.

Sehwag and Gambhir out to the middle now.

----------

35/0 after 3. Sehwag looking in great touch.

----------

And that's the 50 partnership in the fourth over! 51/0 after 4 with nothing but great technical shots by both batsmen.

----------

Spin on now. Venkat.

----------

And spin does the trick. Gambhir out at mid off of the first ball he faced.

Amla out to the crease now.

----------

Beaten first ball.

----------

Wicket maiden, in complete contrast to the 51 runs conceded in the previous 4 overs.

----------

Sehwag with a silly sweep shot off Ashwin. Umpire gives the LBW not out, TSL review, but are turned down. Turns out it actually hit the arm on the full, and would have hit the stumps, but struck outside leg.

----------

Oh no Amla is out stumped after strolling outside the crease like he was on a pilgrimage.

----------

Venkat gets his second.

----------

Make that his third!! Kohli out for zero after going for a big hit, he's caught at short fine leg. What was he thinking? Complete turn around in the game here. 51/0 after 4 overs and they were looking so solid, but the spinners have changed the game. Jimmy Amarnath beaten off the first ball, just missing leg.

61/3 after 7

----------

Jimmy Amarnath has one of the worst batting averages in this tournament, and he needs to step it up. He is having a great tournament as a bowler, but is letting his middle order down.

----------

Interestingly, Amarnath's confidence meter is half-full, perhaps as a result of the four wickets he picked up earlier today.

Shastri: I hate that rule.

Boycott: Collapse of epic proportions. Why did Amarnath try to smash that? I think he saw the juicy full toss and got tempted. Out in the deep the same way Kohli was. Looked good after scoring 8 runs. This time, Venkat is the catcher.

----------

And this is disgraceful batting from DDC. Another stumping after a shot in the air off a wide ball, the batsman Joyce out first ball, strolling in the park. New man Mandeep Singh, who makes his tournament debut, out at 70/5.

----------

...and hits a four off the first ball.

----------

Mandeep with two good shots, and then is out caught at square leg. He couldn't keep that down. Gone for 6(3) off Venkat's bowling. Venkat has just turned this match on its head here.

Rajat Bhatia out to bat at number 8.

----------

And Sehwag looks shocked after being adjudged out LBW off a short ball. He reviews it.

Picthed outside, but that hit his left hip just outside. Lucky to get away.

----------

And with that the game stops for the day.

Shastri: What a turnaround by TSL, all caused by my best mate, Srini. Venkatraghavan is 5/12 in just 3 overs. Magnificent guile and drift.

News from the studio is that the match between TSL and DDC has begun again, but there will be no coverage of the game because the commentators are watching the live IPL final instead.

Venkat has picked up his sixth wicket, that of Bhatia, who was playing well with 16(10).

----------

127 all out. All wickets taken by the off spinners (apart from two run outs). Lead of 46.

----------

DDC will be very disappointed with that total, after being 51/0 in 4 overs.

We commence coverage with DDC needing 62 to win. The score is 18/1. TSL have opened the bowling with their offies.

----------

Amla gone for 17(16) going for a big hit. Needless shot. Good stand between him and Sehwag broken by Venkat.

----------

Kohli gone for yet another duck. Bowled by Venkat after facing just three deliveries.

----------

Jimmy out to bat, who's had a terrible batting tournament so far.

And that continues! He's out first ball. DDC now four down. What's going on here?

----------

Joyce misses it, but its not out. Three wickets off that over!

I must say that this is the most extraordinary game ever played.

DDC's batting collapse today is just unheard of.

They were 51/0 in their first innings in just four overs, and then 70/5 and 127 all out.

In the second innings, DDC were chasing 62. They were 50/1. Then they were 57 all out.

Venkatraghavan took 16 wickets.

DDC players are in shock.

OMG

----------

Arzwiz you were 50/1 and you got all out for 57. Really??

arjwiz (Mumbai Indians) vs @bradthelad (Rajasthan Royals) Official IPL game
kickoff begins now from Rajasthan!

Rohit Sharma wins the toss and elects to field first!

Danny Morrison: Jaipuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Mpumulelo Mbangwa: What a crackerjacker we have for you today, folks. The match that's been three months in the making. These two have been in the same leagues for months but haven't ever played a game together.

Harsha Bhogle: Pommie is taking over from Laxman Sivaramakrisnan in the commentary box here today. What do you think of today's game, Pommie?

MM: It's going to be a great game. Rajasthan Royals will be favourites, I think, because their manager @bradthelad has a lot more experience than arjwiz has. He's won more games than arjwiz has played.

Bhogle: Let's get straight to the action.

MM: Lasith Malinga is opening the attack.

The first ball is swinging in from outside off stump, and Rahane pulls and misses. The second ball is swinging out from leg stump, with Rahane clean bowled. He expected another one outside the off and went for a cut.

Watson out to bat now. And a poor connection has interrupted play as the Rajasthan Royals fix some technical issues.

RR 1/1 after 0.3 overs

----------

Bhogle: We're back in the middle now folks. Pommie and Danny to take you through the next few overs.

A couple of swings and misses. Three of the over.

RR 3/1 after 1

Bhogle: Looks like it wasn't meant to be, folks. Rajasthan's stadium has some faulty lighting, and the players have gone off.

Luckily, the Mumbai players flew back immediately to Mumbai, and were followed by the Hyderabadis.

So, starting now, is Mumbai Indians (arjwiz) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (@honu999) in an official IPL game.

Sharma won the toss again and has elected to field first.

Malinga will bowl another over, wow!

----------

Actually it's Zaheer Khan opening the bowling to the left handers.

Two off the first over. SRH 2/0 after 1.

----------

Corey Anderson opens the bowling from the other end and gets a prized wicket of David Warner. But SRH have reviewed this. Looks high, it hit the batsmen on the belly. The bowler was surprised at the umpire's call himself. But he's lucky, umpire's call. Decision stands.

----------

Aaron Finch goes for a smashing shot but is beaten off a quicker ball by Anderson. Clean bowled, first ball!

Danny: My man Anderson on a hattrick!

----------

And Naman Ojha sneaks a single.

----------

1 run and 2 wickets from that over. SRH 3/2 after 2.

----------

10/2 after 3.

----------

Anderson gets him bowled, but no, it's a no ball! Free hit.
