Ashes 2015 - Australia tour of England July/September 2015

It would have been quite daft to drop Nevill. The guy did everything possible on debut. And, like you pointed out, Haddin has been a baggage for a while.[DOUBLEPOST=1438177234][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm so annoyed with Mitchell Marsh. I'm feeling a bit upset about it. :rolleyes

I think this is going to be a very low scoring match. But i'm more interested to see how @blockerdave 's best bud Ian Bell does under pressure.

LBW

Next one LBW :p

A PATTERN HAS BEEN FORMED :P

Okay, well I havent watched any of the cricket so far but it looks like swing is getting the better of the batsmen. I think Aus might get rolled for 150 but we all know how well England bat, think Root, Bairstow and Stokes will manage to get England to 200...

The best part about this is I don't have to listen to Warne rave about Clarke and his 'funky' declarations. Would have loved to have seen Marsh get a 50 at least. :noway

Why are you a Marsh fan, out of interest?

Everyone time I turn the Tv on its been a rain delay... Sigh.

what just happened ? This is why eng should give conditions that suit their best bowler, Anderson is a total different guy when there is lateral movement for him.

The last two months following eng team has been fun they are really being mercurial.

Would still expect Aussies to be put in a hard fight, anything over 150 it should be game on.

That's a bold prediction!

Well, him and Stokes. Apart from my obvious love for de Villiers who I absolutely adore no end a fast bowling all rounder is someone I have a huge soft corner for. Their numbers will never be stand out when we talk great bowlers or batsmen but they win cricket matches. In a lot of ways, I wanted to be a hard hitting batsman that could bowl fast. I don't have the talent.

In that category, why Stokes and Marsh? Both have charisma, both fit the bill and there is a mass of potential there in both those guys. I saw Marsh hit two sixes of two balls remaining with Perth needing 12 to win. I've seen some people hit, but the bat speed Marsh has is insane. It just flies once he hits them. Also, he bowls a heavy ball and at good pace. Mark my words, he will nibble it around on this pitch (overheads permitting). He skipped a bomb of an IPL contract to play county cricket so that he could be picked for the Ashes knowing full well he may not get a game. And, unlike most Aussie cricketers, he doesn't have a large ego or a big mouth. (So far)

Yep. Check these figures out:-

Anderson's wicket to wicket: W . . W . . 2 . . 1 W . . . 3 . 1 . W
Adds up to 4 for 7 in 19 balls

Ah I see. Good stuff! I also have a fondness for quick all rounders, as my profile picture suggests!

Stokes does remind me of Flintoff in lots of ways. Its a shame that he hasn't had a bowl today.
