Fair enough, you don't really want Marsh out of crease but how is standing up going to get him out? Don't fancy JB for a miracle stumping down the legside and outside edges are much harder to catch standing up.

eta , I mean, you could argue that keeping him in the crease raises the chances of lbw or bowled but I think overall your wicket taking opportunities are fewer / harder.

Root is a quality offie. KP and Vaughan had some useful cameos but Root could easily operate as a genuine all rounder if he focused it a bit more.

I honestly agree with this. I'm curious whether the work it would take to build up his bowling would affect his batting or not
