Ashes-2023 England VS Australia 16 June-31 July

Duckett and Pope ought to be kicking themselves, literally gifted their wickets away. Good thing for Australia is that there isn't much batting left after Bairstow, so a couple of wickets within 50 runs would go a long way in securing a lead.

However, with Lyon's participation in the Test being doubtful England ought to ensure that advantage is used and look for at least 50 runs lead. The match is evenly balanced at the moment.

I don’t think they will at all, they were doing what they think was the right decision to take on the short ball. It was either take it on and keep getting runs on the board or the innings would grind to a halt and lose momentum and they would have got even more fidgety and try more risks to find runs. They mistimed shots, it happens but the idea and theory wouldn’t be something they would angry about

Fair enough. But Duckett could have waited until at least his century. Yes, it's a personal milestone but an Ashes hundred would be worth it, wouldn't it?

Let's just take a moment to celebrate possibly the most unsung hero of BazBall, Andrew Hilditch.

When they put men on the hook and dropped short he knew just what to do. Just look at him go! :

Pope started it and losing such a brilliant position of 188-1 is stinging to high heaven
