Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

I would say that it is extremely stubborn to refuse to release any gameplay footage so close to release. Blatant hypocrisy I.m afraid.

You seem to be trying to create a clique on this site without any foundation behind it.

Your philosophy seems to be one of "abuse the perceived enemy".

You are a very manipulative poster. When asked to put your money where your mouth is you respond by saying that I have no right to even ask about game footage lol.

Martyn you are being utterly ridiculous. No company is obliged to reveal information about their product before it is released to consumers. As such you have no right to demand the release of gameplay footage. It's worth acknowledging that video game developers are in a different situation to most other companies and that it is often in their interests to advertise their products pre-release by showing off various elements.

However despite this expectation it seems ridiculous to me that some consumers are getting so aggressive about the lack of information. Patience, my friend, is a virtue. We would all be well advised to Keep Calm and Wait for the Ashes to satisfy our cricketing palettes.

Ross likes getting involved with PC because it's a great place to discuss various aspects of cricket games. He doesn't come here to be abused by impatient customers for not publishing sensitive game information that remains the intellectual property of Big Ant Studios. Be thankful that he's here at all, many game developers wouldn't even bother.

I try to read your posts with an open mind I really do. But it's completely different, 505 gave us a release date. Big ant have NOT. Ross has said that the game will be out before the end of October. That gives them almost 4 months to "do their thing"! As dutchad has already said, we would all love to see some videos but we have no control over it. Let-it-go! :thumbs

Have no right to ask a developer to prove the quality of gameplay?

Ludicrous.

We can at least point out to Bigant that without gameplay footage his posts amount merely to hype and spin.

Wow, I missed that too. Thanks for posting that it looks amazing. :thumbs

Footage taken from in game. Using the link you don't get to hear the Yeah though, type "yeah" in the cricket academy tour designer :)

I'm going to have a slower one rendered tomorrow as it happens too quickly... Be sure to watch in 720p.

ps: if anyone here doesn't like it they can always go watch some burning stumps or the Colonel :p

Just to clarify. I meant that I think Ross should not post in this forum and watch AFL at the same time. Particularly when his team is losing :p

Burning stumps are so 1882 and I don't particularly like KFC. I rather be here and besides PC is all we need.

I love having Ross here, as it is nice to have a direct channel with the development team.

That is not gameplay footage.

It'd qualify as footage (cause it's a video)

It'd qualify as a gameplay video (as it's footage of a game.)

Unless Ross has to put every video through your rigorous testing first to determine if it meets your standards?

Ross has been part of 3 sports games that I can think of off the top of my head. He has been in the industry since 1979, I think he has the right to choose how he will market his own game. Disagree? Make your own and prove us all wrong.

If you look at the significant jump between rugby league live and rugby league live 2, you'll understand how much big ant are improving, to me, that is indicative of the quality they are capable of producing.

Not gameplay footage.

More a technical demo.

Unless the game is aimed at people whose perception of time is impaired...

You haven't been asked to buy anything yet. When the product is on the shelves then it would be fair to demand a demonstration, not before. We all love seeing gameplay videos, but that doesn't entitle us to them. We don't own the product.

Well that's a bit difficult, they haven't won a game in a month!

The point is that it is not unreasonable to expect one.
