Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Well...I kept the judgement changes but put swing and seam down even further. I also put bowler influence down (does that affect ai?).

On veteran now Australia just tanked me for 288-7 off 40 overs! Everyone was caught but it was 2 caught behinds early then the rest got out simply trying to up the run rate. It was particularly impressive to see the AI go for it in the final 10 overs. They were only 3 down with Maxwell set in and smashed me for 117 in 10 overs! Never had that before in any game.

Maybe veteran is the way forward, or is it simply just the randomness of this game!? looking forward to trying to chase down 7rpo now hopefully with the changes ive made (judgement and bowling mentalities) the AI wont give me 30 extras!

Another innings in career without any HUD..Really fun..And strongly believe the shots go to even more places because our timing is mixed when you have to watch the ball and play which also shows in the Big Wheel...

Nice looking wagon wheel. Are you able to play shots off the back foot? Especially deliveries that are of good length or fuller? This is one of my biggest gripes with Ashes, in that I'm not able to play off the back foot as well as i could in DBC 14. I saw the AI play some nice looking backfoot shots, but i was never able to get bat on ball properly at all playing off the backfoot. I am hoping someone can figure out a way to play decently off the back foot. Also what difficulty settings are you playing on?

It's been well documented that there's something wrong with the attributes in the game so I wouldn't expect changing judgment too much.
it has been the case in previous Big Ant Cricket games that the AI varies quite a lot depending on the difficulty settings, both for the general match settings and your personal controller settings. If i was you I'd keep experimenting with different difficulties and set ups and work out what works for you.

I know not ideal but it's something.

I've put nearly 2000 hours into DBC titles... I've tried a lot, every difficulty setting, and the cricket looks and feels rewarding, but there are certain mechanics that just seem to over ride everything, and certain things that don't make a difference, and after three titles I feel that's pretty poor.

I've always found veteran gets the most out of the game. I still struggle to get clean bowleds though (non prod shot)

Managed to chase down with an over to spare. Was very touch and go as needed 22 off last 2 overs, but they decided to revert to PowerPlay 1 fields so with only 2 men out was easy. Very stupid that...

So, I gave this a go. Turned off all HUD and feedback, game is on Veteran, 100 for batting on shot selection, footwork and ball quality. Did have my timing on 55, but knocked that down to 30 due to having to actually watch the ball rather than just see the pitch marker. Switched my camera from batsman far to batsman close, get a little nearer to the action.

Hard! Liked it! My run rate is 1 or 2 an over, with a boundary hard to hit. I would say finding gaps in the field was very tough as well. I'd get crushed playing a T20 like this as I doubt I'd reach 100, but for a test match it's spot on.

Going to take time to work on my judgement, but with practice I think I'll get it. Played probably 25-30 overs, didn't lose a wicket but had a few LBW shouts and also a lot of play and misses. Before batting was so automatic, now it's anything but. Great suggestion, this is going to do a lot for me I think!

If there are top two things I would like to see Big Ant focus on for the upcoming patch, it would be...

1. AI fields, especially in shorter formats
2. Stats - primarily career mode and if they get a chance then across all modes (including Earned/User stats)

If they somehow manage to fix these two items, then enhancing the batting difficulty along with making back-foot shots a realistic option a la DBC 14 would be item 3 on my list.

What about front foot shots on short red balls and green balls.
Cut shot going straight u don't want these important issues to be fixed

Fixes I want to see
1.Graphics
2.Ai
Ai improvement batting; bowling and field placements.
3.RUN OUTS online
Batsman getting stuck while cancelling the run resulting run outs.
4.FIELDERS
Fielders are to slow to react in inner circle resulting easy singles.Fielders reflex should be increased.
5.BATTING online
CUT SHOTS GOING STRAIGT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
Backfoot shots animations and it's underpowered mainly in the cover region.
As shots are not connecting to different lengths,
something is missing;this issues is more playing with human online.
Front foot cut and pull shots to red balls and shorter green balls which are like a bouncer I want it like dbc17.
6.Missing features
A)Broadcast batting camera in ground training if they are having issues to put it in nets training, please add it in ground training.
B)TOURNAMENT MODE ONLINE WAS THERE IN DBC14.

Such a helpful and detailed list. Thank you, I'm sure that will help BA fine tune the game.

Back foot is tricky as in DBC 14 I was primarily backfoot player as the game allowed us to be so with the animations which was great..In this game though backfoot is hard to pick the balls with the pace but with spinners, medium pace even medium fast pace I am able to play off the backfoot but one issue is there was a few low bounce pitches in career especially in 2nd innings which makes you even lose your wicket...So my mindset is front foot to start off and adapt to conditions, when you are settled I feel you really can see the ball well, might be a mental thing but the feel is great...Batting like this is the only thing that is keeping me play the game at the moment as I am not liking bowling as its just random wickets for me...

I am definitely able to pick the line of the ball better but for backfoot movement the timing gets off but I do manage to play a few, not always though...

And I am playing on Hardest batting, legend AI..[DOUBLEPOST=1518158395][/DOUBLEPOST]
@funnyadit Are you using any modifiers?
No..Playing on Hardest batting, legend AI..
