Anyone can ask a question but why wont you hear the answer when it is given: the ai fieldsetting is a problem, has been noted, years ago, hasnt been solved yet. If it were easy it would have been solved. The fact it hasnt been solved yet is not laziness but very complicated. It is being looked at, has been looked at, will be looked at. Fact.

Dutch you know i respact you right. But i have to disagree with you there. In DBC17 with the last patch they did fix it like 90% of the way. Now they have just gone backwards.

Regarding AI fields, recently playing a lot of odi and AI sets more than decent field sets @ Legend AI level

After the initial 10over there are 4 outside the ring till the last over.

5 outside the ring from 40 to 50th is missing.

AI does change fields after like every 2 3 balls.

When the tailenders are batting AI does bring more fielder in ring.


To the beta testers,

Which are the top priorities u all are collectively addressing for the upcoming patch.

@Parcelmoose the last two pages have enough posts to explain why sometimes people get fed up and post similar crap!

What’s more irritating is that there is a lot of testing and tweaking and people updating builds at weekends etc.

I never doubted their existence, and I greatly appreciate the incredible dedication of the testers. But I still stand by main point.

Everything everyone has mentioned is in a spreadsheet.

My personal one that I’m determined to get rid of is the random AI smashes to keep up with a predetermined rate.

Plenty of others

Some are possible some maybe so not. What I can say is people from BA are working beyond their hours in between other stuff to tweak and fix

No batting second.
I always prefer to chase. Just simulate the bowling and bat.

Will try to share some screenshots of the nice AI field sets at various stages of odi innings.

One was I tried a lofted shot over mid off and mistimed it, runrate req was 8 , next ball AI had a fielder on deep mid off.
 
As there are some genuinely passionate and polite people I don’t mind sharing this (I think I’m allowed)

But it shows the complexity of a small tweak and how it effects others.

For example on build before last I bowled till Lunch.

The AI after 35 overs were 26/0.

Gameplay with amazing. Edges, plays and misses. Nice calm match batting.

Not a single lofted shot in sight.

But as you can see the run rate is now far far too low. The balance is key but each value tweaked seems to tweak something else.

I just test, god knows what it must be like at the other end.

What bowling difficulty were you playing on? Currently I'm weary of going higher than Hard because Hardest seems just a bit too punishing. But if it gets to a point where the AI respects actual good bowling and can't just smash a four or six whenever they want then Hardest might be the way to go.

That was Veteran and Hardest.
But it wouldn’t of mattered what I was on.
