Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Haha fair enough but I think you missed my point which was you paid $99 for the game in the first place, especially after all the criticism for DBC 17.

I don't subscribe to the no-negativity of BA viewpoint. I subscribe to a view of 'what could I have done differently to avoid being in this situation'. I felt burnt by DBC 17, said I would never pay full price for a BA game in the future, didn't and I'm not p*ssed off like many of you are. And given the current state of Ashes Crciket, there is no way in hell I would pay full price for a BA title in the future. The ONLY way they will change my view on that is by delivering a quality title on day 1 with a future release.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me is how I look at it.[DOUBLEPOST=1523414313][/DOUBLEPOST]

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how fake news works.
Well If BA stop making Cricket games then I don't know anyone else that will make them.
and To be honest since I brought Ashes Cricket I never once want online to play a match lol..its all about Career mode and if they can make a great career mode then I don't want to be wasting time playing online with some random person.

Yes, I agree with you, it should all be based on what you want.

Even though I don't play online, I used to think that it was a good idea to consider those other than myself and that it'd be good if online got attention too, but then you came along with your brilliant idea of it all being based on your wants and changed my thinking. They could even call the next one Master Khan Offline Cricket 2019!

I feel sorry for you guys... I paid AU$52.99 on the 23rd November, a week after release (that's about GBP30 - I used to lose that much on a night out in London).

For DBC 17, I think I paid AU$89 about 3 months after release. I know which one was in better shape at time of purchase and has received better support (assuming this patch delivers). Admittedly, neither of them are the pinnacle of customer service and QA, but I do feel that by self-publishing BA have been able to cut out the middle man and maintained a reasonable support offering at a lower or equal price.

Has it taken 6 months for this patch to come out? Yes.
Could you honestly say the game has been unplayable in the meantime? No. Flawed, perhaps, but certainly not unplayable.

Well I got the game for free, early... I did ask Ross to send me details so i could pay for it when I left the beta but he never did it.

I think it's a fine game. It's coloured slightly for me that I know that it was better before release, and even better at release, than it is today. But I'm still playing it (when not on Far Cry 5) and enjoying it. My biggest gripe gameplay wise was that the AI bowling/fielding 4th innings wasn't touched from DBC17 even though it was broken and especially I was annoyed BA/Mikey denied the problem.

But it's a game I would pay for happily.

However, BA clearly said that the "value for money" judgment isn't purely on game play but the support, which would be the most generous of any BA game ever and was factored in to the cost. The game has so far had the worst support of any of the cricket games - 2 rushed patches that butchered elements of gameplay, and a 3rd patch that did nowt and was just a cynical "look we are patching". Throughout that period there was next to no engagement with the beta, and zero engagement with the community.

So that's my beef, in a nutshell.

Judging the game as a game - best one so far, annoying some things weren't looked at, still very playable and enjoyable.

Judging the game by Ross's own criteria - people were misled.

Bingo.
Couldn't of said it any better myself. That is EXACTLY what has annoyed me most.
You pay a premium for the product, being told that the premium is for ongoing future support. This has by far been the worst supported game after release in the series.

I'm surprised as well, it does seem so unreasonable of some people really. Big Ant have really bent over backward to give us a game that plays out as good as a cricketing video game can already and soon we'll have even more, so soon after release. I feel a little embarrassed that I bought it for only $99, cheap at twice that!
Buy 2 copies if you are feeling bad.

Highly unlikely I'll pay the premium price at release for one of their games ever again. You can't just say it's a premium price because their will be ongoing support and future improvements in the game and be waiting nearly 5 months later with absolutely nothing except 2 minor patches that in all honesty set the game backwards rather then forwards. They bit off more then they could chew bringing out the AO Tennis game and we paid the price for that.

I totally agree and am also a career player and i guess large number of players enjoy career more than online with someone else or unknown person's mercy .Cheaters are also a possibility in online. So i enjoy career much much more than online .

This argument is getting way old if you ask me. They have already said the patch is coming out on 26th and according to beta testers its going to be a promising patch. But for the argument lets say there is no patch. Can you honetly give me a better cricket game then this one. EVER. I have personaly played every game from Alan bordar 94 and sure every game was different but if you take the gameplay , realism, AI, graphics etc. No game came close to ashes. This is the truth. The desarpointment is very real and its coming from we are demanding more, nothing wrong with that. My point is lets be little fair and realistic as well

Avoid playing night matches. Also, if you are playing in a custom / downloaded Stadium, that could be an issue too. Try playing a day match on any default stadium and it should not lag (not noticeably at-least)
Thanks mate !!! I hope they fix this issue in the next patch !!![DOUBLEPOST=1523438102][/DOUBLEPOST]
Don't worry the new patch will fix EVERYTHING!!!!!(in an ideal world)
I hope man
When is it coming btw

Its not based on what I want but most people will rather have better career mode then online.

If you want better online and just a simple broken career mode them that's fine them.
I mean I don't cricket to turn into FIFA.
Again complete missing the point of my post: I never stated I wanted anything: i asked you to back up your claim that most people want this or that
